If U guys find a programmer then I will certainly buy a part of the game with some core people (25-50 looks like possible numbers to buy the game... But possibly someone could organise another place to discuss this? (we need to get a close contact possibility with the ones interested in buying).

I just send and email from the Peloton mail informing all the active managers about what is happening.
I just hope this is solved and he start playing again.
Till now no news from IP about the sale or putting the game online in the time of contract left.

ElGringo: i've received the message on e-mail. Good idea, but as long as there is no sign from IP, i believe it is futile. Regarding the italian team and the rest of the community as a backup plan, i don't know if it possible (to have more teams in the community trying the same thing). But i believe that if the italian team started the discussion, that they will have the full support of the rest of us, when and if needed. The biggest problem was and is IP. As long as doesn't decide what to do, the game is going to die. And nobody can do anything about it. Whoever it would be to take over the game, there has to be the possibility of discussion with IP, which seems is not. And he may be a very good programmer, i don't doubt it, his social skills seem to be ..... @ab Normaal: why i said in my post that the association has to be somehow legal is that i don't believe that people actually keep an gentleman's agreement. In order to not continue the mistakes done until now, it has to be a clear cooperation, goal and things need to have a solid base. Otherwise, anybody can start to think they are the only one entitled to decide and run the game. And will win the best friend with the programmer @quilleru: I agree, there are more people discussing it, but we're getting nowhere this way. Still, we all just loose our time until IP has a clear official stance about the whole situation. Only from there it makes sense to discuss about take over, plans and so on. And IP doesn't look to say anything. stenes:I don't write, nor read too much here, but i don't exactly understand your post. Is the Italian community trying to do something on its own, or not? I understand just that you would like to continuue playing the came and paying premium for it, if the game would be stable and playable again.

The game needs a server with about 100Gb of space, it needs to be a dedicated server, the programs that calculate races, updates, transfers run on the operating system and knowledge of mysql and C#.NET is a must. I am a programmer and in the past I already offered to IP that I wanted to work on the game, because he didn't had much time. I work as a programmer in C# and SQL, so if you need one, I can help. I have looked around and found a dedicated server (8gb RAM, 500GB storage, 50TB traffic per month) for only 40 euros per month, so you can find a cheaper one. But I'm still hoping the game will be online again in the near future...

Hi, great to hear from you again, like stated earlier in this thread I am a programmer to , but coming from a different era (before the internet, in fact even before windows kicked off) I have no experience with web based stuff nor with C# Anyway, I just want to point out that although my knowledge is limited I am prepared to help anyone who tries to keep this game alive.

OK. Well, already a lot of people who offered help. In my opinion a few things need to be done:
1) Contact IP what he really wants, and point out that, if he wants to sell, he needs tp put the game online and give the possible buyers the opportunity to come up with a plan and raise the money. 2) Contact the Italians how far they are with their plan, if they want to do it on their own and if they really are going to do it.
I think Helder is the best person to do these two things. He is in contact with IP and the Italians like him a lot. For some reason they hate my guts and always react on me like being stung by a bee. Even while we have the same objective: save Peloton. So, it is best that Helder contacts them also I guess.
After that we can take further steps or not.

I am reading everything, but I suddenly realized I didn't post anything yet. I certainly want to contribute to the financial part, but I can't offer much time and I can't program. I could help somebody with publicity/communication...

We could 'create' some sort of board of owners. a part are silent owners and a part that has some tasks (programmer, publicity, forum , ...). In any case : the 'board' (BOO) needs to have regular contact trhough a hidden forum or something like that (mail group also).

I don't know if I am the right person, I don't know IP very well, I am just the persistent man that is always speaking, many times in a monologue. For me the right man to do this is NikeBoy if he wants to get involved. He knows better then any other the game, the code behind the game and knows very well IP( I supose they study together). We all want the same, the game working so I will help to put the game back online. As I know IP is now speaking to the Italian that wants to buy the game so we will have news soon.

And what if Nikeboy doesn't want to?

Silly decision not to start the next season if he's trying to sell it... keeping a group of users/subscribers makes the game have more value, not less.
I have no problem with IP wanting to shut it down. Projects like this always have a shelf life... if the creator loses interest and doesn't want to give away/sell the product then they always disappear.
I think he probably should have stepped away a couple of years ago when his interest waned. He just kept it up largely because he felt he owed it to the players. I stopped renewing premium when he vanished, and I imagine the same is true for others who felt the game was fading.
I'm disappointed it's likely ending, but I'm not upset about it. I do ask if anyone finds something similar they drop a line here. This was a good community and a very good sports-sim.

I have contacted IP about his plans to put the game back online and how he sees the "sale". To be honest, I have no intention to put any money in the game (never did and never will) But I will support whomever takes over the coding, especially the race engine. I still believe very strong in the concept of the game ! But the lack of time (and proper support) forced me to take a step back. Don't underestimate the time and effort you will have to put in this project, when you want to keep it alive and growing ! Good luck !
