Now the plans are on the table to restart with Peloton-Game, it could be the right time to list here what you liked very much and what you absolutely disliked about the previous version of PG. Let me start : Like :* The concept of fitness : the tactical choice you need to make, when to give that extra % effort and more important , when not ! * The race results : the excitement when 1 pm came closer Dislike :* The current race engine : we definitely are in need of a new one * Current Ability : useless This thread is pure out of curiosity, there is no commitment from IP to actually change the dislikes posted here !

I really enjoy the tactical aspect of the fitness aswell. It would be better though if from time to time the calender would change so we would have to come up with new tactical insights =)
hidden current ability, but also future ability I think are not that usefull... I think all young cyclist should have a certain "speciality" (don't know if it should be given or hidden?, might considder given and visible) so certain cyclist train faster in certain skills (just an idea)
however; I'm very excited Peloton will restart!

Like: - Training (higher skills => slower training, FA, ...) - Races - Division-system Dislike: - Current ability (or it should have less influence, or at least +/- visible) - Unable to have something like a youthteam (or test team for new cyclists)

Like: - Many different cyclist attributes that influence race/training results, including FA (I like the FA ;D) - Large number of races & tours, the calendar and division system.
Dislike: - Old system of CA & FA. CA was intended as a 'current form' skill, FA as a 'talent' skill, but in the end, both missed their purpose and made it more a matter of luck when buying/pulling a new cyclist. - Divisions per country didn't motivate players in smaller countries to continue playing
I can already say that CA will be removed, as 'current form' already exists; this is the average results over the last 5 races. And FA will be changed so that it will not be of much importance during the first seasons of a cyclist's career, but only when he has aged, has trained more and his 'talent' will be more important to make the difference.

Maybe i didn't understand how the CA worked (if it worked ...) but i really liked everything else the way it was ;D I wouldn't change anything but the pull system. I remember being pretty annoying at the beginning of the season watching other teams pulling 18 years old cyclists and me pulling 23yrs ... What i would love is to be able to pick and have back at least one of my former cyclists

@ip: How are you going the problem of small countries and their divisions? Just going to mix all teams up? Or separating them in bigger groups (like continents)?

Like : - Peloton, it just is the best cycling game ever - FA, the fun of training and monitoring cyclists to find the really talented ones - the funraces Dislike : - Youthpulls varying in age from 18 to 23 without any distinction in skills. Especially because the older ones didn't even qualify for white jerseys. - The ability to pull a cyclist every week with a 20-20-20 coach - Always the same races in the same order (competition). I would suggest a maximum of 3 ages f.i. 18,19,20 for a youthpull or a clear distinction in skill as a pull is older.

Like:
- The game, is the best game of cycling - Training young riders - FA - Tactics
Dislike:
- Dont have the possibility of training 2 skills at same time, a principal and a secundary - Dont have portuguese stages - Dont change the order of the races - The system of selection of the riders for the sprint and montain jerseys

@ip: How are you going the problem of small countries and their divisions? Just going to mix all teams up? Or separating them in bigger groups (like continents)? The game will begin with one big group, 'the world', and then as more and more players join, it can be separated into smaller groups, per continent or country. Each player/team is still has a country, so statistics per country will still be there. But races and tours will be more international The main difference with before is that it is much easier to separate bigger groups into smaller ones than the other way around. With the old system of divisions per country, it was pretty much impossible to merge countries into one group without giving disadvantage to many players (e.g. how to decide which teams from different countries will be in division 1:1?) Btw, in the first season, all players will start in the lowest division. So there will be no advantage to the lucky few who are able to register first and be placed in division 1:1

good idea to let everyone start in the lowest division!
I really liked the FA system: every sunday I was curious to find out who had popped and who were the most talented riders...

Yes, if the first season begins in division 4 (depending on the number of registrations, of course), then it will take 4 seasons before there are teams in division 1.

Maybe for the others need to be "The World" And for all this big countries you could make 4-5 divisions and put the teams randomly and not first 20 teams who join in division 4 group 1 (for example)

Thing is, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy & Romania won't be so big anymore when the game starts. These countries were so big because the game had been running for like 3 years and had time to grow. So it's better to take things a bit slower at first and see how it grows after a few seasons.
Peloton has been away for some time, and we have to take into account that it will take a (hopefully little) while for people to find their way to the website again.
Also, putting the teams randomly in the lower divisions is pretty risky. Don't forget that division 4 has 64 subdivisions (room for 1280 teams), and division 5 even 256 (5120 teams). If, for example, only 200 teams sign up, there will be on average 3 teams per subdivision in division 4, and just one in each subdivision of division 5.
So divisions will be filled like it was before, from subdivision 1 onwards, so that all players are certain that they end up in a filled (and active) division.
