Yes, happy with gentilhomme's unexpected win. Not too many riders picked this race so a nice surprise.

Really?
4 new teams in 1:1 or 3 without Franconia. They together score one victory and one jersey. The difference in quality seems that large that it is frightening. For most teams it isn't really fun if you can't win a race the entire season. Every season halfway through the season in 2nd DIV it is the question who wants to promote, not who is able to.
Only for teams that have been building a completely new squad for more than 10 seasons or so it seems possible to be competitive. For others it is usually a return ticket to 2nd DIV.
Ok there is pride, but I think fun is much more important.
Also moneywise staying in 2nd DIV will be a lot more profitable I guess. Also for building mood. And without mood you can't make it in 1st? Also because of the forum activity.

And this race made me change my mind. I have no problem sharing it.
After Carapaz saying she wants to promote and Naspa saying he would race Utah to the max I was thinking I could escape promotion. I was doubting allready since Giro. So then next season I could promote with winning more races, jerseys and money (because no rider is over 35 here). So I put Jennaert at 80% only.
But on the other hand I have been holding back allready so many times (5 times in a row in 3:2) and I got tired of it. So I'll try and give it a shot in 1st DIV. But it worries me for example that Van Nes wins every race he wants with us but couldn't get a single win or 2nd place in 1st DIV.
I do think there is an issue with the game that every season again many managers try not to promote. I don't have a solution ready though.

i really don't understand the gaps in stage like today's ... There are huge differences between attackers and others that i cannot explain regarding past years... I feel like the race engine is not the same as 2 seasons ago. Am i the only one ? As Naspa said. Döring and Retort rode at 100% and started with good (higher than GC guys) fitness. Both are very good riders and their skills match todays terrain. Makes perfect sense to me.
And to me the favourite for Yellow is still Vinchent. Green too. Polka for Prates.

yes, quite strange TdF in 2:2. Very few real contestants for GC and some stages almost no one seems interested. Levi's is unpredictable, Naspa didn't bring mountain riders... It is up for the ones who dare. Must say my squad in Giro was somewhat stronger too.

Vinchent doing good business for GC. Allready 7 minutes on Grande and 10 minutes on other contestants? Or maybe Simon steps in?

A little early because there's U21 today and dustin still has to show his selection (Coleman, Maury, Simon and -25?) but some favourites for the upcoming TdF.
Yellow and Green: Petry > Grande, Auge, Vandenbussche/Vinchent ? Polka dot: difficult to predict: Prates, Grande, Dell Agnello ?
Stages: Flat: Leao, Saltman, Goselinck, Retort, Döring, Kruydt TTT: Carapaz > Joachim ? Sprint: Cammozi > Eenman Mountain: Grande, Prates, Dell Agnello, Dereume, Vinchent > Van Grinsven Lebon Wautier

No changes in the rankings after a day full of Portuguese climbing violence. Good heavens, ascending like rockets, what a riders: Ferreira (27), Prates (31), Cardoso (24). True. Jennaert is a good climber and he saved allmost his entire giro for this last stage but Ferreira and Prates are a lot better and younger. Impressive. Must say that I only aimed for polka dot jersey with Matejek, Green came with a little luck and with the help of very good mood.
Unfortunately for his mood his wage contract will need to be renewed this season and I still don't have an idea how to save mood without paying really high wages.
