It is a lot of money for one race. BUt well, there is still a slight proper chance he will survive the season-update. Looked it up for you: on his 36th birthday => 1/16 chance to retire on his 37th birthday => 2/16 chance to retire on his 38th birthday => 4/16 chance to retire
on his 39th birthday => 8/16 chance to retire on his 40th birthday => 16/16 chance to retire Has been changed i think. Do minus 1 year for all chances

Thx, where Dell Agnello stayed below expectations on WC, Dereume rose above expectations.
Tomorrow Van Nes vs. the rest (Saltman, Renquin, Coleman, Ghysellinckx, Deproost, Seeger)

Petry (from levi's) is for sale because his contract was not renewed.
I kind of expected these skills but it is still amazing that he scored that many points without being really good. He was 2nd rider in out division after Prates. He has a nice combination of flat and mountain which is not seen that often but is needed in quite a few races here. But it shows again that mood and experience still play an important role in this competition.
And still a few days after Vuelta i remain impressed with the very strong mountain riders I have seen. Ferreira, Tavares, Prates, Lebon, Donleavy and Luce in the waiting room... Kind of a large disapointment for Ivaldi and Hoydonckx who really have a large mountain and a high overall skill that they still come short at their age.

Hey, Polly had the same strategy as i did today -two sprinters, one for first part, second for final-, only slightly better riders. Congratz! Thx. I did think a long time about strategy for this race. I was doubting if Knol could beat Orlandoni and Eenman on flat sprints in order to try to achieve green jersey. They never really faced each other this season. I thought about Orlandoni allready being 36 and Eenman 'only' 31, so I could take the shot. In Jennaert I was quite confident because most real mountain riders raced Vuelta or Montreal. Downside for me is that Matejek losed some fitness and a little time too on his competitors for tomorrow because of this strategy: Vandenbussche, Auge (and Döring). These four seem favourite for GC.
For tomorrow same names and Jarding, Soria and Simon seem favourite.

I think it isn't because of weight.
Well I think your rider Carpignoli is very high in sprint and somewhere medium in mountain? That makes 3th place on a mountain sprint. On the last part, but before the sprint, many riders are dropped according to mountain skills. Sprint only decides then in what order you finish inside your group. So if they would have stayed together to the finish you probably would have ended 3th (or a difference in helpers could have changed something).

Even when parallel with Vuelta, this is actually one of the strongest line-ups this year. *** Petry Caso Stonier ** Cristea Dell Agnello Cordonnier Grande Knopek * Gilstad Payan Belchior Bellen Quite far off with my prediction. But really happy with the unexpected win.

Prates: "I'm very happy, but i didn't expect to end today stage with the yellow (red) jersey" Cardoso: "I believe I can still win the white jersey" With Prates performance in Vuelta, as expected, the fight for relegation is ongoing... But perhaps, Prates can fall before the end ... I don't think so. Don't panic. It will be very hard for TGV to catch up the difference in points with you. Even when Prates would win all jerseys. It would also possibly be quite strange that the best rider in the division (prates will be very close) has a very large chance of regelating down to 3th division.

I don't mean in attacks because the duo-attack influence is quite known nowadays but also in normal, non-attacking parts?
Off course a normal terrain isn't like a real TTT. But it seems like for example a rider with flat 11 can't close the gap on a flat piece for example on 3 escapees having flat 13, 7 and 7 when all other variables would be similar?
Or am I talking nonsense?

Some things that might help: 3) It was a team time trial with Van Royen, Berghman, Ackaert + some other cyclists. This way, on every different terrain type, there's always someone else taking the lead in the group. Even then, if it is a team time trial, they take the average off all riders. Is that really the case in reality? It sometimes seems as if the strongest rider sets the pace on that specific terrain type like bosko says.

tomorrow, Lebon will test its mountain skill. Probably for the firt time really seriously in all his career ! Not the easiest stage you chose. Monster stage and big differences. Nice win naselli. Many riders are getting lower in fitness. Prates again going really strong. Also Tavares did really well holding yellow. I'm a little disappointed with hoydonckx his result compared to his skills. But his weight might be too high and his mood not up. But i'll keep trying. Curious about who continues with what tactic.
