I looked at the result and was so confused by Feringa finishing above Allouche. Thought I'd check my riders fitness after the race just to make sure, and somehow I set Feringa on 100% and Allouche on save fitness. Ouch. Now both are useless for the rest of the season too. The only reason I can think I've done this is Allouche is 3rd in the rider order on my spreadsheet, and Feringa 3rd in the order on Pel. An odd mistake though. I wasn't even drinking last night

I think he probably saves Oury for the ITT later this week. That will be 100 points... Sorry Helder, you should have told me Punkska, that suchs! I have had problems in the first stage of Vuelta too, didn't save any tactics, that gives a frustrating feeling, I understand you completely.

I saw you buying Andreoli for this stage and I wasn't online to bid with you. You did well and you are fighting like we are all. I have an unexpected Yellow for one day

interesting situation with 4 stages to go, only one big mountains left, but is the hardest, Lions is in a favourite position with Canart (again) and Naz, but some others have remainig fitness to spend and the gap is not so large, so the fight for yellow is still open, at least for the podium if Canart will confirm his strenght. but i like Modino of Slayer, maybe the surprise, also Head of AB who has more fit but i'm asking myself if he will go for the stage...
STANDINGS POINTS Nr Cyclist Pts 1. Marietto 33 2. Lemius 30 3. De Foor 26 4. Torroni 23 5. Masek 21
my favourite here is Lemius, he will take some fitness on sunday i guess...
STANDINGS MOUNTAIN Nr Cyclist Pts 1. Lemius 38 2. Marietto 25 3. Masek 15 4. De Foor 15 5. Caldelli 13
and Lemius again, this looks already done.

well can't see who can beat Lions here...

Maxz, Head was supposed to go stage hunting in two stages, but for the first, mu tacstics weren't saved, and that was a wasted stage. So now he is going for the GC, but unlike most others who go for the GC, the qualities of Head aren't in the mountains. So, he needs to limit the damage today. If he succeeds in that, he can aim for the podium. If not, he will go for a stage.
Don't know who will be the favourite for the yellow. Last three stages aren't for the mountain guys, probably the best hill rider of the first 8 in GC is Gherschon I think.
My favourit for the green is Masek who will save fitness and go for the hill stage. I really don't understand why Franconia is training fitness with the overall divisision victory already secured...

I think Canart will win it, Gherschon usualy loses time on him in the real mountain stages (f.i. 4 minutes in a similar stage as today in the Giro ) and he is already behind plus on a lower fitness level. Also sundays stage does not really suit him.
But we propably know more after todays race, I am expecting big time differences.
The team that wins Green and Polka-dot is already known I think.

Not sure what to make of this Vuelta for me. I normally try for the GC with one rider, go for the mountains jersey with another, stage hunt with 2 other riders, with one rider as support.
This season I decided for a change to try for GC with 2 riders (Canart & Naz), and Strassberg did better than I expected in the early stages, so midway I switched him over to GC tactics also.
While the GC is going much better than I hoped for...so far, my mountain goats haven't done so well, finishing 2nd and 5th on the mountain stages they targeted, which is a bad sign for my team for the future since the mountains are my team's only strength.
Targeting the points and mountains competitions in the grand tours gives you almost as much money and league points as GC, with the advantage of a good chance for a stage win, extra money from sprint bonuses, and 2 chances to build up rider mood vs. 1 (from jersey wins and stage wins), and rider mood seems much more important in this game than I expected it to be.
So, I'm not sure that focussing too much on GC in a grand tour as I have in the Vuelta is that good of a strategy - I only tried it because I couldn't see where a stage win might come from other than the 2 mountain stages - which didn't go so well for me.
All but 1 of my riders have been set to helper tactic on at least one stage, since the teamwork aspect is a side of the game I enjoy and I wish had more emphasis.
Sunday's stage is difficult to call, and could have an interesting effect on the overall standings.

Yep, i was always interested in the way you use helpers, at least in mountain stages but never can do some experiments, don't have so much goats as u have... ^_^ btw your strategies are as always better than mine... i'm not so skilled as you or franconia.. but i'm happy this game allows the best strategas to win more than others with similar cyclists...

Is going to be a exciting last week of season for the fight for maintnence.
Being realistic I am already relegated but the fight for 8th place will be though.
FRanconia has a good advantage to be champion, and only Rats could have his spot in danger by Lions of Avalon

Last 2 stages of the Vuelta should be interesting for the GC. My trio are trying to cling on by their fingernails on terrain that doesn't suit them.
Modino, Lavoie, and especially Head (who trained fitness) all look like threats.

Modino, Lavoie, and especially Head (who trained fitness) all look like threats. No clue how big the differences will be in the last two stages. I trained fitness with Head, because I need the points to stay in. At first I wanted to relegate to 2nd division (which I think is smarter to do with the finances), on the other hand, I am loaded with money, and now my competitive side comes in place. Next stage fits Head like a glove. Masek will probably go in all the way too and I hope Head can keep up with him and win a lot of time back. I don't think he is a threat for the podium, but I think he will come close.
