impressive mike, really impressive. 8mins on Guiggi... phenomenal! it was long waiting for Cavaco, but there he is. You pulled a nice gap now in GC between you and Crusaders. I think you are safe now. Just as I expected, have some more faith in your cyclists.

oh headcase, if Clementino pulls this one in, I would really be surprised. As you said, hill will be important, as well as flat IMO. Therefore I am also curious about Cavaco's performance I focussed on the classics this season, I don't think I will win many points in this Giro to be honest. ITT isn't suited for Baumann, and Niculaei and Rijssegem are lack some TT to be really competitive. We'll see. Good luck ya'll

rarau, 72 cyclists and you don't know what to do? Come on man, 72??? Portugal, raps and Emond will leave the game at the end of this season, if not next one. Have you anyone to take over their position, can anyone grant you for stage wins? If yes, stay, if not, relegate. You have so many youth, but barely get results with them. When you are in 3rd, look after their FA, keep the best ones and sell the others. As a matter of fact, start doing it now:-) Built your team, make em stronger and come back to 2nd with a killer team. A bit like slayer and naspa did/do

yes idd, nice results for the new generation. Cant complain about my results this week. Bummer that there is mostly 1 cyclist from the current generation who ruins it:-) Although, gompel (today) and Cormier (yesterday) are both 34, we can call them the generation in between? Wattez, Flament, Steyaert and Grande, they are getting closer.
Apart from that, I don't get it why TMoI doesn't get rid of his oldies now. He secured his spot in div 2 already. But it looks like he is aiming for Div 1 again. For that second place, 3 teams. Anyone interested? Bosko, Joop? I am not, to be honest:D Been there, done that, much more fun here in 2nd Down the ranks, quiller seems to have thrown the towel? Interesting battle is coming up for that last relegation spot. Semtex will score heavily in the big tours, so I think it will be between helder and Streetfighters. Bolt & Headcase are rather safe

nice idea polly, happy to see what you do for the game. You can't do good for everyone, so don't feel bad about countries missing.

merry x-mas from me as well guys. Hope that all your wishes can come true, and most important, stay healthy
quiller, that's painful. But look it from the bright side, you can now enter the races with your second leader and give him experience. At one day, you will be glad that you did it. My second leader is 21 now, I used him last season in the giro. I did not win many points in that tour, but the sooner he is capable of taking over, the better it is.

Yes bosko, i kept him safe because of 2 reasons. Guiggi, who is still stronger as i expected and in pure mountain skill better then De waen. And, i was looking at vieira (melres) yesterday for the YC, and i figured out he had a decent mountain skill and maybe a possible threat for Van Gend. So i gave him the attacking points that i had in mind for De waen. Glad i did that, otherwise it would have been extremely difficult to keep that white Jersey

How much did he gain in the 2 weeks? 0,1, 0,2 or 0,3? But indeed, it was a good cyclist for the lower divisions. Can cause a lot of Harm there
For pays vasco i am going to play Nicolaie for the GC. See how far he can get at his 30. I noticed sikkes was in so i changed tactics. Need some more tt before i can compete i think. Van gend for YJ and de waen for sunday stage

Finally he starts winning, congrats Mike. The race towards the safe spots has begun For me not much to Play for this week. Giving some youngsters experience, dont have the flat cyclists to be powerful in the classics. Tomorrow 24y old moretto will try his best
The new generation is taking over completely now. Chitul for example, won many races before, but has difficulties to remain in front of the peloton

For me personally the first stage was the deciding factor not to go for the GC with my boys. Too many flat and hill. That Made me able to use them again in the Giro and still get a decent result in GC (read prizemoney) But i have to agree that i would have played cavaco for the GC as well. I dont think he is made for the classics. And you can only set him at 85 or he has to begin the giro at lower fitness. Not that this is a problem, did the same last season in the vuelta, but still... weird. Oh well, you are the manager:-)
Hoped for a stage win, was close to it, but there are better ones. I have to admit that my key guys are not strong enough anymore.

I agree with bosko, that 1% might have done it for. It's only 1%, but it often makes the difference between being able to follow or losing grip with the peloton. Certainly with with cyclists that are not fully trained, against pace makers of the first generation
T-A today, I guess Cavaco will take it easily;-) I will try for 2 stage wins with my boys, we will see if this was realistic. Always difficult for me in short tours to decide which way to go. GC or stage win.
Joop, you did a smart move with focusing on downhill training. I'm sure this made the difference if the sprint stages. Not many managers out there use this training. There is where you can still make some difference against others. Good job and congrats

slayer, I know Schauwers a little (have battled against him), you would be surprised if you see his stats, they are not so amazing to be honest. The reason why he has won so many tours is Dirk's fitness training. It's not a bad cyclist, not at all, but it's surely no Froome. Maybe one on drugs :-)
another one from Dirk was Eddie van peteghem. Don't know if he is still there. Was the same case, not the best cyclist, but well used in combo with fitness training.

I just noticed, 50k for Cavaco Mike, wow, is it still profitable? Spoken of an error, I made one myself:-) I was so convinced that there was a Sunday update in Paris-Nice. So I played my tactics that everyone ended at 80%. Big surprise today when I logged on and saw that there is still a stage to come... on Sunday. Haha, well there goes my schedule
