Is bettere having or not having the youthscout? I have one (19 current skill,10 balance,13 percpetion) but I pay him a lot (193.059$); although the hig wage, he never finds good cyclists and often i have to fire them because nobody want to buy.

MOD break : Please use the subfora like intented : Texts in Italian belong in the Italian forum only, If you want to sell someone use the Transferforum. And most questions about how to play should be asked in the newbie section.
I sacked my scout long time ago, but when very few are left they should be more profitable. Also this should be the best time to sell young youthpulls with a profit, because cyclists of their age are still exceptionel.

This interest me too as I had a little false start to my peloton career buying a youth scout to quickly and nearly going bankrupt.
i now wonder when is the best time to consider buying again?
I have about £200k but looking at prices and wages I know I need more....dont want to get 'burned' twice!

I recently had $8M in the bank and still did not hire a YS. I'd rather buy the riders I like on the transfer market (Which I did, and now I'm down to about $200k, too!), instead of getting a random youth once in a while.
- I quite agree, that YS will have more value when there are fewer of them. - I don't think this is the time, though! The game needs to be expanding, so that there are more teams who need to buy youth riders. - Think of YS as a luxury item that you will reward yourself with when you are in Division 2:1, 2:2, 2:3, or 2:4.
Unless you are pulling good youth riders several times a season, YS are not a wise investment, imo. Unless you have a very good YS (18-18-18?) you won't get the quality you want very often, and an 18-18-18 YS is very expensive.
However - the only way to get your hands on a good 18-year old rider is to have your YS find one. The best 18yos are probably not going to be sold. But you can do fine buying 20 and 21yos on the TM.

as long as something changes YS will never be worth it.
when a new team joins the game, the new cyclist created are quit as good as the cyclest generated by a YS. So we have plenty of new good young cyclist join the game when a new team starts. Some of them sell some of their great talents others leave the game and all the great talents are automatically at the transfermarket. As long as this is the case, it wont be possible to get profit from YS.
i bought a YS after the changes, and i havent had one good cyclist yet. My YS is at 13/15/15 now.
WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

Well, one change helped YS owners a little...when teams go Bot, their 18 and 19 year olds no longer go on the market.
New team 18 and 19 yos are not quite as good, on average, as a youth from a 15-15-15 YS. New team riders have about 10 total skill points.
I always advise new managers to avoid YSs, but sometimes it's too late.
For fun, I took a quick look at the 8 teams in Division 2:1, which are some of the top teams in Peloton. Only 2 of the 8 have a YS, E.P.O. has a 15-10-11, and De Mechelaars has a 16-17-12.
That should tell you something.....

I think that YS wage should be much lower. Soon, there won't be too many youth cyclists on the TL ...

I think fired cyclists go on the TM. iirc, it happened before, and there was a reason given, and I think that was it....
