The 1 in hill was actually a mistake when I hired my initial trainer. I honestly can't remember why, but I thought it was a good idea at the time. Now, the wage increased by it is so small it's not worth getting another train over it.

Is it just me or do others find this Vuelta boring too with the same winner every day? Doesn't make much difference to me as i'm not having any expectation in these kind of stages, but i'm very glad we're having a break from this repetitive formula. 2 stages in Poland plus a TT coming on and hopefully my team get some decent results there.

I'm sure Gonon and the Wisigoth find it exciting! I've never been a huge fan of the big tours, there's not much to do except wait. There is no strategy involved, you just can't play around with fitness like the smaller tours. I do like winning them though!

Lol...i'm sure he is, but if you compare it with the Giro or the TdF there never was 1 rider that could win 3-4 times in a row, simply because of the diversity in stages. It's like with Lepetit in your team....1 flat tire and the chances of winning a big tour are reduced a lot....is Gondouin a bit of a TT-er? Since you said you changed your tactics for the Vuelta especially beacuse of the TT's i was wondering whether he was better in that? If so (2+) i give him a good chance, although all those boniseconds do add up at the end in favor of Gonon, but he's not much of a TT-er. Hopefully my youngster Lucassen can manage to stay top-3 for the green jersey...i'm positively surprised by him.

In fact, except for Lepetit who is a pure climber, all my riders in the TdF were 2+ in TT.

Very nice.....as a reference: Lucassen who is 2.0 on TT became 3rd in both TT's in the TdF (behind my 2 specialists of which Fitas is 3.4), so that should be hopefull to you. Lucassen is probably higher on flat, but still these are relatively short TT's and especially Cuenca-Cuenca is more then flat alone, so my guess is that you could win some time with Gondouin. I've bought 2 new youngsters and both of them will make their debut in Poland....looking forward to this race and hopefully can get some decent results there after a week of barely any top-10 classifications. This Ulrich guy also is in Poland though....

Speaking of young cyclist bought, I just broke my bank and gave myself a late christmas present... I'm hoping he can our star for years to come...4 in flat, 3 in DH, 2 in TT. Already 4 in XP and leadership. 18 in balance and his only drawback 5 in steering (still not too bad for a 18 year old) He just might start in Poland too...

That's a lot of money, but his stats looks pretty nice....i just hope he's not disturbing my plans of winning today. You have 29 riders now and i know it's hard for you to say goodbye , but do you give less training to all or do you just let some guys out of the trainingspool? The 18-year 1 bought was 3+ in hill and mountain, but his weight and length aren't that good for a climber.....hope when he has some decent flatskills (1 now....) that he will become a nice multiskill rider. Had decided not to buy riders with 1 on flat anymore, but this one was to nice to let go and a good price for 220k. Btw....another new team (Portuguese) in our division .... no signs of activity so far though.

I'm only training 26 Kingstown. I'm going to sell a couple by a season's end.
I saw the new team, he missed out on the Pologne tour. Too bad, because now he doesn't have anything to do for a week or so...
Finally, congrats on your 1-2 race today. Your win is not unexpected, but I was surprised by the time difference!!! Already most riders behind with 7+ minutes, it will be fun to watch if Barbez and Louwagie can hang on despite their low fitness.

Thnx! I was surprised too by the time differences, but since they have no hill to speak of (0 and 1) they both will fall way back. I considered this the last race for both of them this season and especially Barbez with his 18 years is a huge talent. (5.5 flat and some nice 2+ stats too) Changed my green jersey tactics a bit and Snappe who won all the intermediate sprints is still on 95% fitness and since he does have 3+ on hill he has a good chance to win some points again tomorrow and win the jersey. Your new man wasn't bad either. (Very weird that the first 3 riders came on the finish alone....can't remember that i've seen that before) Did you put him up for the intermediate sprints? I was also very happy to see that one of my new men won a mountainsprint! That doesn't happen too often to me. Btw...i'll try to keep track of the points won in Poland, but no guarantees there if it's going to work properly with all the Vuelta stages in between.....i do my best however.

Me too....my trainer is improving his TT as a second skill right now, but i'm still not sure whether that's the choice i want to make....and about tomorrow....completely different stage, so a whole bunch of other riders will be in front....my main objective now is to win the green jersey with Snappe.
