New users could be given a bit more help in the first news message they get on signup. The message I got (please ignore this post if this has changed) included links to the wiki and forum. It would be nice if the message contained some basic help:
1.) A link to the www.peloton-game.net/calendar.aspx page and some text explaining that to enter races, teams need to click on "Change" in the tactics column...
2.) A link to the www.peloton-game.net/training.aspx page and some text explaining that riders will not improve their primary skills without training. Decide what skill you would like your riders to improve in and hire a trainer - riders can only improve one primary skill each week and most new teams find it easier to hire a trainer specialising in one skill. Then move all your riders into the training group and click the 'confirm selection' button. Finally decide what training skill you would like your trainer to improve in, if any.
3.) A link to the www.peloton-game.net/supporters.aspx page and some text explaining that teams can earn additional money each week through buying merchandise which will get sold during the Sunday update. Check on how many supporters you have after the last race of the week and make sure you have enough merchandise for them to buy...
4.) A link to the www.peloton-game.net/funraces.aspx page and some text explaining that new teams can participate in or create up to 5 fun races each week (these fun races use a different race engine than normal races at the moment while new improvements are being tested).
[edit] 5.) Also, a link to the www.peloton-game.net/sponsor.aspx page explaining that teams earn extra money each week from a sponsorship deal.
