Dear peloton-crew, As I didn't find the correct section for this topic, I'll just put it right here..
I've got a complaint to make, which handles about the IP adresses which are shown on each team's profile page, to check from which IP the users log on to, this to avoid people with multiple accounts.. BUT, in first place, this is unacceptable, since you just give IP adresses from all peloton-users to anyone, which could result in major problems.. For example, in which I will describe what happened last week to me: I got hacked, my IP adress just got hacked, I was unable to use my computer, hackers just overflooded my hard drive with large undetectable virusses/hoax, and other shit, which made my computer run very slow, I returned him to the shop so they could fix it, result: My pc is unable to be fully fixed, and I had to buy a new pc (the 2nd in 3 months time..), my last pc cost over 1000€, and now I had to buy another expensive one, because I got hacked.. I'm not pointing at peloton-staff for this, but the reason I had to buy one, was because I got hacked, because someone could just get my IP adress for free, because it's just free shown at the peloton website..
I ask you politely: REMOVE THE IP ADRESSES ON TEAM'S PROFILE PAGES, OR JUST HIDE IT FOR NORMAL USERS SO ONLY ADMINS/STAFF CAN SEE THIS, 'cuz I'm not buying another new pc, deal with this as soon as possible, but in that time, you won't see me here again, untill this problem is fixed..
Kind regards

If you take a better look at the IPs you will see that the last 3 digits are censored.

Although I doubt that you got hacked because of the first 3 numbers of your IP adress on peloton. (you leave that address just about everywhere). I don"t find it an elegant solution to. A better idea would be a tool that compares the last 5 login IP's of 2 or 3 teams. I think that could be an extra functionality in the report cheaters tool, with a direct report to the GM if they match.

Kind regards like schimz said "Although I doubt that you got hacked because of the first 3 numbers of your IP adress on peloton. (you leave that address just about everywhere). " in hattrick you have 26.02.2012 22:40 from 86.127.***.*** maybe it's better in peloton to be the same. When you go on a site , that site know your IP. So, i dont think someone will make a peloton team to search for 1000 IP from 100 users, it is a nonsense. When you read a newspaper or pay on internet that site know your IP too and on a newspaper are at least 10.000 users per day. Why you dont buy ANOTHER hard disk? for what you buy another monitor, mouse, memory, motherboard and so on ?

As said, the IP addresses are censored on the website. Without the last 3 digits, it's useless. The reason these are displayed is to make it easier to find cheaters and so that other teams know how active a team is (or not).
Comparing the IP addresses automatically, as Schizm proposed, is not sufficient, as single pc's are often used by multiple people who aren't necessarily cheating. I don't like the automatic discovery of cheaters as this isn't something that's always black or white.
I will increase the censoring by making the last 6 digits invisible, like rarau proposed, just to be on the safe side. A difference in the first 6 digits should be sufficient anyway to suspect teams of cheating.
I also think it sounds like a broken hard disk, possibly due to the virus. You can replace this without changing the rest of the pc. You have a new one with 1TB space for about $150.
I'm very sorry about the problems you had, I know exactly how annoying it is to have to install everything again. But if I were you, I'd return to the shop to complain that they ripped you off by buying an entire new pc when all you needed was a new hard disk.
That said, every single website you go to knows your IP address. So always be careful when surfing online (preferably, only go to websites you know are safe), don't click any popups and very important: install some good antivirus software. I can recommend Avast (http://www.avast.com), a very good and free antivirus.

I don't like the automatic discovery of cheaters as this isn't something that's always black or white. I did not mean automatically comparing the addresses. I was thinking of a button other managers can press which would check for similarity and simply report a Match or No match. (And in case of a match there should be an option to report that to the GM). Maybe you can just put it in everybodys transfer History after every transferline, (comparing the two parties in that transaction). (If necesseary you could also use the same script on the transferlist - Comparing the seller and the bidder).

Ah, like that. Yes, that seems like a fine solution without even needing to display part of the IP address. No idea though when this can be added with all the other stuff I still need to do.
