I've lost some pretty good cyclists by just not paying attention to expiring contracts. Beckx and De Fauw are now watering their plants, while they could still be of good use for an other manager, one that probably can remember to renew a contract.
So why not, instead of making cyclists end their carreers, automatically list them on the transferlist for €0. The money obviously shouldn't go to the manager that forgot to renew the contract, but disappears.

Maybe a contract reminder could be added? An automatic message that is sent 2 weeks before the contract expires

Reminders are sent. At the start of the season and then 5, 3 and 1 week in advance. So you should know well in advance that the contract will end

Ok, didn't know that. Why did you ignore those reminders captagon?

forgot, i was in the middle of quitting the game, and didn't pay that much attention to it anymore... but that doesn't matter, it's not that i think contracts shouldn't expire, I just feel that my mistake shouldn't mean the end of the cyclists carreer. normally a cyclist whose contract is not renewed tries to find an other team.

It's a good suggestion, I think the transfer market is a bit empty and this could give it a boost.
You've got my vote. (maybe you can add a poll)

I think it's better to create a 'free agent' market then with cyclists that have no club (also fired cyclists).
The cyclists will stay in the market for a x-number of weeks in which they can be signed (say x-time the basic wage he will earn at a new team)?
