I appreciate I am very new to the game, I have scanned the forums but not seen this proposed before but feel free to shout me down I play a fair few other online managing games (Battrick, Trackking, FTP etc), what they have in common is the ability for new players to have the potential to generate income from the off. I.e friendly matches, selling horses etc, meaning players can get involved from the start and have a relatively smooth learning curve. I appreciate there is sponsorship money, but $9000 a week will only cover the entrance to a couple of races. Removing the race sign up fee would let new players be able to enter as many races as they would like - much more fun to manage! And I cannot see it markedly disadvantaging the established teams as I am sure to them it is a negligible amount. Maybe keep the charge for buying race gear, although I have to admit I would love for that to go as well since as a newbie I would love the chance to have a play and try different settings. Alternatively, a suggestion would be to distribute money based on team performance as well as individual performance. I.e a newbie team may come 12th overall as a team but have no riders in the top 20. Currently that means they gain no income, but if team standing could score and they gained $5-10,000 that could help cover their race entry. Feel free to rip that apart!

You can have 5000$ If you don't put on settings........ You on need it at races........ 1 tool costs 1000$ and thats expensive.....
And try to play tours..... and play races less....... that may help you....

So you get paid $5000 or you just don't spent $5000? If it is the first great, although I have not noticed that in my finance page, if it is the second it does not really give you an incentive to enter as you will still loose money on the race through cyclist entrance fees. Other suggestions taken from other games could be to have different competitions for different strength clubs to give every team a chance (e.g in Maxithlon you can have regional, national, continental and international competitions). An example could be to have the Tour de France going on concurrently with a lower ranked race with less prize money - better teams could enter the tour and win big bucks, new teams could enter regional races to win 10's rather than 100's of thousands, but everyone would get a competition they have a chance of being competitive in Realistically, I would have thought a new team should have no chance of winning big races for a couple of seasons - what is needed is a mechanism to allow a new player to scrape together enough money to survive 2/3 seasons whilst they train players.

We discussed some of these things already First of all: the sponsorship fees will be improved from next season on (see announcements) We also discussed the idea of having multiple races on the same day, like you propose here: a big tour and at the same time some continental races. Anyway IP said to this idea (in Suggestions :: Tour de France only for TOP Teams) I think that if there is a calendar with a gazillion amount of races, you will only confuse people more. Especially when the calendar contains races to which certain teams can not participate. Multiple races will also cause a drop in the number of participating cyclists. So, in general, I would keep the amount of races as it is (around 80), although it could be possible that divisions can have a couple of races more/less than another. And he has a point, and the only way to have more participants is more teams in a league which leads to new promotion system, or change the whole financing system of a race etc etc .. i think he then should change the whole game. So we just need to accept how the game is, and find other alternatives Removing the entrance fee seems to be a good idea, but i actually like the entrence fees because they make the game more realistic, although they are troublesome for new teams. Anyway, if you want you can read following topic, they have some of the things cited above: This one has a new price money distribution (page 2) which should be implemented since the tour (?) and will also benefit new teams. Finally we talk about the sponsorship issue. peloton.proboards44.com/index.cgi?board=pelotongeneral&action=display&thread=1171973212

Thanks for that - did scare me to read in the post that a lot of people started with 15 point cyclists . Makes sense now how some of my league mates sold initial cyclists in their first week for 200,000 to 300,000 compared to the 1000 I am getting! But your suggestion of $50,000 sponsorship would be amazing - that would cover race entry and salaries for about 15 cyclists, then if a player wants to have 25 to maximise training they have to make sure they place in some races. I don't think it would make an unstable economy, the key is allowing teams a baseline to avoid bankruptcy whilst rewarding those who do well, since $50,000 would be less than race entry and salaries it would not be causing significant inflation. Can't wait for next seasons increase providing I don't go bankrupt

The promotion system can be changed if it is really necessary. I can understand that in leagues with 20 teams, it is not easy to be first or second to promote.
This could be changed for lower divisions (like from division 4 downwards). Divisions 3 and higher should stay the same, so that the top divisions remain difficult to reach. But at the moment there are not many countries with a 4th division or lower, so I think changing this can wait until there are more larger countries.
