I get the frustrations. 1.68m and 97 kilo's, something isn't correct. But anyway, it won't change. Maybe it could better to focus on the youth cyclist who are scouted, so this kind off over-weight cyclist won't find their ways up the hills no more.

Just don't mind the weight, length too much at the moment they are a small factors but when the cyclists do get better they will gain importance, when the factor gets deciding is hard to predict though maybe in 5 seasons or so. ando : sorry, it is indeed taller not larger

so schimz why does porteman do win races on hills and mountains ? he weigths 97kg ? because his skills are appearantly good enough to beat the lighter guys, I will try to make it clear with an example ... 100 kg = 0% gain on skill, 50 kg = 10% gain when you have 2 cyclist now, first one weighs 100 kg and got a 3,9 mountain skill, second one weighs 50 kg and got a 3,2 mountain skill ... the first will win mountain races cause his skill is (3,9+0%=3,9) and the other has just (3,2+10%=3,52) as skill... now in a few seasons and when both cyclists get better at the same rate the first one will have 9,9 as mountain skill the second one will be at 9,2, the second one will have more chance to win because (9,9+0%=9,9) is lower then (9,2+10%=10,12) !

don't be mistaken there is a lot more flat in the TdF but in my opinion those with the best general skills will get you the best results overall, those who peek at one skill are only suited to win certain stages (or maybe "mountain"-tours like catalunya or pays basque)

But I think not enough for a mountain+hill - specialist to win it, no, you would need atleast a descent flat-skill

english please ... it is pity he fell but that is part of the game, also it is only fair to those who fall on other days of the week that those who fall on sunday can not participate in the next race of a tour, they already have an advantage of getting well very soon.
