I'll play the Bredael card today. Let's see if his TT skill can bring him over the mountains with limited loss or that I have to conclude that it was too much. Good luck to everybody for the final Giro week.

I have set my tactics for today... But not yet for the next days... We have to see this day by day... About Venturato : he doesn't attack today ... Top 10 4 him is still the goal in GC but I have to make choices

Congratz to Veen. His fantastic hill skill made the difference, so a well deserved victory. Tomorrow, I won't bother anyone. SF mode for me.

Banciu did what was needed... Take time on buitenhuis en naz BUT not enough (a fall at a bad moment made a very big difference there!!!)

Yes, congratz to Veen. And this of course means the win in race 8 is for Belluzzo :-) Tomorrow I guess Naz en Buitenhuis will dominate. Maybe a surprise by a not mentioned rider? I will keep a close eye on the 27 year old Leloup (Pedale) - probably not matured yet, but still high on fitness and I estimate him to be a good climber. And we will have to start to consider the riders of Carapaz. Charbonneau was on the attack today, and Bedos seems to go for a top 10 stop in GC. Banciu and Welsschen did great taking some time and valuable points for MJ and PJ. It is interesting that the tactics of team Melres today was saving fitness. It seems it was worth taking the risk. Naz ended in the big group. Brassard lost a small minute on his competitors. However, looking at the race instead of the results first, might have been bad for the ElGringo 's heart. 00:35:22 Naz can not follow the peloton 00:30:37 WATCH OUT! Oh my god, Naz takes a bad fall 00:14:51 The peloton's pace is too fast for Brassard, he gets behind

Congrat to Pollyjean and to Veen for the vitory.
For GC Quiller was the only that didn't save fitness and took some advantage but lets see if they keep it. The objective of Naz today was to save fitness and gain some extra effort to the rivals but Buitenhuis did the same so have some advantage, the Quiller riders now lost the advantage to Naz in fitness. Naz even with a fall keep the pace in peloton it wasn't that bad, BRassard also had a problem but still near the top of the YGC.
Like you guys I am making day by day my tactics and try to see what will happen. Tomorrow will be an important day in the mountains, lets see. Good luck

Thx guys. Only Veen his first win in my team. Last few times I always was quite unhappy he never could win something (and most of the times not even close).
Naz will not have difficulties winning GC and MJ in my opinion.

Wow. Awesome week so far for Polyjean. Well done! Buitenhuis for the stage and the yellow. He uses his extra 5% fitness and takes almost 4 extra minutes on Naz. Both at 84% fitness now. What will they do tomorrow with 70km of hill in the stage?

I expect an attack from both on 75%.

Yes :-) Would be my advice as well to both team leaders. And choose for them all 5 attack points wisely. But with what result? Can Naz build up some advantage in the early climbs? Or can Buitenhuis keep up with him? Or might he be even a bit stronger in the hills? And if so, will it be possible for Naz to repair the 7+ minutes in the last two races? Or will it be no problem with the late-attack-point climbs of race 9 and the ITT?
And maybe I am too early with the question. But I wonder. Was it a mistake to give Naz some extra fitness on the ITT last week?

Very well played by Pollyjean and is GC rider, congratz. With 7 min is going to be very hard. Buitenhuis didn't lose time in the mountain and gain time in the flat and hill parts so only with a bit of luck Naz can get the spot.
Naspa, Kvoeschen made a fantastic stage and keep the white jersey too, he is fighting hard to keep it.

I expect an attack from both on 75%. Still didn't decide, if ht elats mountain stage had early attacking points I would save fitness, I will see.

ElGringo . Thanks, yes, Kvoesschen had a flat tire today but did not do so badly. However, he is fighting a lost battle (Edit: but do not get me wrong. He will fight it anyway - it is a one horse bet this week). Tomorrow he might repel any attempts from others to steal the white. But without injuries, Brassard will get it the day after -and if not for sure in the ITT.
