As this is only my 5th season, I thinck I can still call myself a "newer" player (when I see some others have played more then 20 seasons). Here's my view to the questions: 1) Agree with ElGringo. The game is attractive and a lot of info is out there. You just need to do the effort to read. It can be made more attractive, but as ElGringo mentioned already in multiple topics, only small changements are possible at the moment due to IP's position. Things that would make the game more attractive for me: - bigger importance of age: at season update, young cyclists could get a few skill points for free, old cyclists could decrease in skills faster. This way, players will be more curious to see how their riders "evolved" during season update, it would be more important to invest in younger riders and divisions would be less predictable. Now, you know for example Franconia will be in top of 1.1 for still e few seasons at least, seing his cyclists are up to 32 and still have a few years to go. - financial correction: today there are teams who don't want to promote, or even worse: who deliberately relegate because you can earn more money being good in a lower division than being average in a higher division. 2) In my case the fun in the lowest divisions (with a lot of bot teams) was in trying to win everything. When at a moment, there were only bot teams in a race, it became a little bit boring indeed. After my first season, there was already a change in divisions because this problem was known. I don't know if it's better these days. In division 5 for example I still see a lot of bot teams. Is it a possible solution that new players can only join at the beginning of a season? They can subscribe and get an email a week before the start of the next season to confirm they will play. Advantage: all new players start at the same time, making it more competitive Disadvantage: people don't like to wait 3) We're in about 1/3 of the season and there still are always enough cyclists on the transferlist. You're cyclists don't have to be that good to win a race in division 6 or 5. 4) I don't thinck it's that hard to get to 3rd division for example. I have a little bit trouble now in division 2 (especially financially), but that's just my task to find a solution for that. That's what makes playing a game interesting. If you play a game, you know you can win some and you can lose some... A very realistic post!

Question that seems relevent: do we know this game is actually attractive to new members at the moment? (How fun are the lower divisions?, are there enough players on the transfer market to improve your squad? is it possible to go from the lower divisions and get to the top few, or do you get stuck somewhere? etc). It's a question that needs input from newer players though, and I'm not sure how many look at the forum at all. Related: I've been thinking of putting up a poll for a bit wondering what the consensus for a game reset would be. If you have email addresses of former players (I suspect they're somewhere) that may attract some back. If most established players would be against it I guess whatever benefits to new players it can't be done though. Probably only worth it if the userbase significantly increases. Although some of the late starters have indeed shown it's possible to go up in the ranks I still think this might be too hard at the moment. Especially the step up to Div. 1.1 has shown to be extremely difficult for most teams. Once a team is at the top it's extremely difficult to do something about that, which I think is demotivating for a lot of players. We have been 'lucky' that some of the top players actually quit else we would still have the likes of EGV and Lions at the top every season. At least their departure has cleared up a bit of space for some of the other teams to step up. I therefore agree with Bosko that it would be good if (one day) we could do something with both the age factor and the financial part of the game. We are now playing this version for 4 years (I think) and year in year out it's almost the same riders and teams that we see every season. I think that's way too long, we should speed things up somehow. I do think we are on the brink of a very interesting period in Peloton now though. In the next couple of seasons we will see a lot of top riders hit an age where their development will come to a serious standstill and at one point they will hopefully even retire (do we know this?). It will be interesting see what's going to happen during that time and how the big teams are going to handle that. I for one am completely unprepared for this and will probably run into serious problems. This might mark a period in which we will see other teams rise to the top. This is also one of the reason I'm against another game reset. We have already come this far and I want to see what happens next. For me a reset would actually be the easy way out, since it will just allow me to build another strong team from the ground up and probably let me stay in div. 1.1 for another 4 years (if the games will exist for that long). For me one of the main drawbacks at this point in time still is the fact that we can't develop this game at all. EG and Schizm are really putting in a lot of hard work and doing an extremely good job, but as long as we don't have anybody on board who is allowed to work on the code I think we are pretty much screwed. We are not moving forward at the moment and it makes if very difficult to promote this game and build up more enthusiasm.

36 yo lose skills, which is good. But I think they should retire on a certain age, which shouldn't be the same for each rider, like the FA isn't the same for each rider. Otherwise, a rider with LS 20 is useful until he is 45, because he doesn't lose LS fast. Then it will still be 15 or something. Also I guess that managers start to lose these older, skilldropping riders when their contracts expire, simply because they will become to expensive.
Unlike others, I antcipated on the future and am now building a new team which should be competitive when the first generation riders are dissapearing from the game.

The donation button is a good initiative, unfortunately I have no idea what PayPal is. This week, my Premium expired. I extended for 1 year, but if its ok, I pay it a second time to support the game. Shame not that much members are Premium, even some big fishes in 1:1 aren't. I know its a free game, but still ... if you play this game years at the top, a little support in return is not wrong. In 2:1 only 2 members are Premium if I'm correct. In Division 1 and 2, there are the true die hards. If we can motivate them, that would be a good signal. My knowledge about PayPal is as big as the knowledge of Slayer so I i will find time to also donate money by paying on the account of the premium.
