Hi
I'am creating this topic/poll to see if the game need some adjust to have more people playing.
As we see the number of teams in less then 500, actually 405, so slowly we are losing managers and the game is dying. I don´t want that to happen, do you?
This is the best cycling game online so lets make it work, and for that we need to do something.
Reducing the number of weeks for me is one of the steps that we have to make, the other one is making an helping tuturial for new managers. I already read that someone will start making a tutorial and I am here to help tranlating that tutorial to my native language.
Please answer the poll and leave your opinion related to what can we do to help the game.

I would reduce the number of weeks and keep the same amount of races. I would change the U21 into U22. Now 21 years old are useless if you are in division 3 or higher. In real cycling you have youngster jerseys untill U26, so U22 isn't that bad.
But most important: the crew should be expanded with some people. IP isn't hardly there anymore due to his work and Nike is doing a great job, but problems like we recently had with reports not visible should be solved fast. Now it all depends on IP to implement things. If he hasn't gor the time, the problem stays.
That is killing for the game.
I know that it is a free game. I have to pay a few bucks (I already to for the premium) extra, then I will.

I vote to change 'nothing'. Constant changing is also bad for the popularity of a game. Also making changes has caused many problems because of lack of following up by te creators.
I wish nothing would change for a very long time.

I think that it's boring to play in the 7th division and the 6th isn't very better. If the new players see that they are the only in their division that play the game, the game will be boring because there isn't any funny moment in playing alone.

You can also see it as a short investment. Learn the game, the way it is played, the transfer list, training etc. And just earn money!!!

I also would reduce the number of weeks (with a similar amount of races as now). At the moment the season takes 17 weeks, perhaps 2-3 weeks too long. It's a pity that we have lost so many users. In my opinion the game is fantanstic, but it has some general problems, especially for new users. I think we have to handle those problems before we promote the game. Division pyramid: It was a good step to reduce the number of teams in a division. But at the moment the division pyramid is too deep. In most of the 6th and 7th divisons are less than 3 human managers. So it takes far too long (with bad luck more than 6 month!!) for a new team to get in a division with more human opponents (5th division). It's no fun to play alone or against just one other team, so the motivation will fall and finally the manager will leave. Suggestion: I would ignore the 7th divisions (until the user number increases again) after this season and place all new teams in the 6th divisions. The divisions should be filled in a balanced way, so every division should have at least 4-5 human users. Tutorial and help section: Peloton is not an easy game. It takes some time to understand skills, tactics,... So new users will leave, if there's absolutely no help for them. As I started joelag gave me some very helpful advices, otherwise I probably would have left, too. The wiki isn't up-to-date, there's no tutorial, no help section and no internal forum. I started to translate the wiki in German and also integrated a small tutorial ( peloton-german.wikidot.com/tutorial). I think we need something like that in the game itself. Not too short, not too long, just to help new users with their first steps and to make them curious about Peloton.

I played the first version of this game. And i recently came back. The biggest problem i face is definitly not the calender. I like the fact the you have so many real races here to ride. When you shrink the calender the races you are able to ride are also less. This would mean that i won't like the game as much. Also the possibility to make up for mistakes is less.
The real problem why new managers stopping is the fact that they are almost alone in a division. I for example are alone with 2 other manager. There should be a minimun of 6 active managers in the lowest division.
Updating the wikipedia would be a good idea as well. This is the protal for new managers to learn how the game works. If you are looking for someone to translate this into dutch would be happy to do this.
Making the game without hick ups would be nice as well. Races not being riden means managers thinking of quitting. If i was new and my first races wouldn't have been riden i would quit.

my opinion:
-giving the fact that the follow up in changing things is not optimal. Don't change anything. (untill that problem is resolved)
-the only 2 positive things I can read is (1) udating the wiki. Because that is something that doesn't need a programmer and everyone can participate. (later, when IP has more time a help function within the game is indeed a great step forward)... (2) doing something with the pyramide and amount of divisions is something NikeBoy can do, and indeed that's something worth working on.
by the way: the season is 16 weeks + 1 week rest, not 17 weeks, and I would not change that either, even if there was sufficiant follow-up

I totally agree with seberla and Ab Normaal.
What also could help is to make the lay-out a bit fancier to attract more younger players.
And it might also be an idea to adjust the begin team a bit to make the older cyclists a bit less useless. Could it be a possibility to give 2 extra points on the CA foor every age above 18? For example: a 19 yo gets 122 points and a 24 yo 132 points. This implication might motivate new players a bit.
Lastly, I am still not positive about the rol of the youth scout. The youth scout should be made more interesting, especcially to interest new players. The focus of Peloton lies too much on the transfer market.
However, all the implications take time and updating the wiki, implementing a tutorial and updating the pyrimaide should have the priority. Afterwards, we can discuss if there are other ways to make the game more attractive. The game isn't much fun with such a low activity. I say we need at least thousand (active) players!

I vote to change 'nothing'. Constant changing is also bad for the popularity of a game. Also making changes has caused many problems because of lack of following up by te creators. I wish nothing would change for a very long time. +1 it's difficult to have so much changes (especially for romanian user), last year, 5 Aug 2012 , we was 50 now only 24, and from 24 only 4-5 have good finances/active. I dont want to be very fast this game because we need to go on a holiday too. Now with 10-11 races on a big tour, everybody could win a race. With a less calendar/races we need to change the training, to train less cyclists and so on. Now for example you could play a player like this 70% , 100 % , 100% , if you have 4-5 weeks you cannot do that etc. What we need? -wiki -tutorial -more post on forums, for example on NON HT Global (Hattrick) we have a topic, but no one post on there (without me) . Go there and post about peloton and in other forums too. -put peloton.game page in your facebook, share stats/post from peloton official page and so on Less races it means less ITT, less dounhill races etc p.s. i think u21 is very good like is now, not u26 or u30. If you are in 1.1 division, you train 25 players. You choose to train 0 or 5 u20 players, it's your choice. In scout i agree, he need some adjustments to have better cyclists in steering/balance. Half of your scout it sound os for me. Example 10 10 10 then your steering and balance to be between 5 and 9 For 10 20 10 to have balance, steering between 10 and 19

I already receb the tuturial made by Stenes and I will tranlate to my native language. We just need to speak to Nike or Ip to put a tuturial botton in the game in a good place for the new managers check and learn how to start.

Maybe to keep things interested make some kind of tutorial. With the help of the tutorial and something like a manual there could be made 3 quizzes. An easy one, a normal one and a hard one. Just to test your knowledge in a fun way.

The followers will play it no matter what, the others will come and go according to their optimal level or arousal. We get bored in time, especially when we deal with lack of motivation. I still play a game with less than 100 interested users, but I enjoy it a lot. Good luck!
