Difference in base-supporter-amount within the same division

Sunday evening after the update and resetting of supporters, I notice that another team of my country - "The Metric System" - in division 3:3 has 5789 base-supporters.
My team - "Team Diernaes" - in division 3:1 has only 5283 base-supporters.
I thought that being in the same division, in this case we are both in 3'rd, would give the same amount of base-supporters, right?
If I investigate a bit further, I find that "Warner Bros Racing", also of my division 3:1, has an even lower number than me, namely 5035 base-supporters.
How come there are such differences - is it a bug?, or is there an explanation to it?

I think I read somewhere here that it is because previous season(s) division and results are taken into account to calculate core supporters.

indeed, the core-sups are calculated with the last 3 seasons

I'm sad that I'm on the low end, but it makes sense I guess. I'm one of the "old" division 3 teams who made it into the new division 3, so I'm likely going to be among the lowest with supporters compared to the old division 2 teams who came to division 3.

You have 3 kind of supporters :
1. Core = same for everyone in the same division
2. Seasonal = supps based on the performance of the last 5 seasons
3. Opportunistic = each week
