attack and jump over group in front ?

is this intended ? When a cyclist attacks to jump over the group in front ? probably Thibodeau its much better then the others, but its normal to jump over the groups in front ?(part 2) Also Niculaie jumped over groups (part 3) . 3:1 race from today. part 5 is also fuzzy, and then in the race the crazy things continues.

What's so strange ?

Thibodeau is attacking in the downhill part, catches up with the 2 leaders at full speed and decides to take the lead immediately. Pietrini and Dodos are clearly taken by surprise, look at eachother to close the gap but hesitate a bit too long.
