I started my stopwatch and put today's race on at x24 in a Window and got on with work. It took 41 minutes to finish. Now I could have speeded this up by clicking next part a lot, but that's no that quick either. If I just click skip to end I find out the result first before I find out what happened in terms of attacks and so on which is no fun. We need soem way of viewing it a lot faster. One way could be to show all the commentry but ordered by increaseing time so your read down from the startt of the race. If it was cleaver as you click through that commentary it updates the standings. Or perhaps we can have a x240 button for Premium users either way there has to be an alternative to either skiping to the results or spending 10 mins clicking "Next Part".

i agree with you actual race report it's slow and lack of... involvement. especially when the sector is very long, it takes a lot of time while (almost) nothing happens because the system doesn't give info about the race situation (only crasch and similar...). the structure with the step advance make it seem also slower than it's already...

either way there has to be an alternative to either skiping to the results or spending 10 mins clicking "Next Part". only 10 minutes with clicking Next Part. i doubt that it can be that fast. i did this today and it took me about 30 min to skip these 34 race parts. I aggree this is way too slow. And sometimes when u click on next part. It first skips that part but then suddenly it jumps back one part.

If I "click" through the race report I easily finish it within 10 minutes.
Maybe, this has also something to do with the amount of people viewing the race reports..?
Edit: I recognize the last issue mentioned by bj, which does not only occur during skipping, but also while viewing the report without skipping..

Nobody mentioned the worst nuisance: With each refresh more than 3 MB of data are loaded. I can't even check the standings after part x fast enough! Before I'm finished the page is reloading. And due to the huge size this means: 10 seconds without any information at all.

I have an idea that might help without too much dev.
At the moment we have "Next Stage" and "Skip to End". If we had a "Jump to part" dropdown we could skip to the bit of the race we are interested in (e.g where we planned our attacks and see that before jumping to the second last part.

3MB per race section sounds like an awful lot of bandwidth. Wouldn't the simplest solution to speeding up the race reports for users and reducing bandwidth demands on the server be formatting race reports as simple html? A table of contents could link to the events and rider standings for the different race parts to help you navigate about quickly, with the contents, race events, and race standigs each being seperate html tables. It could list the terrain gradient (Flat 0% etc.) for each part too - to help us know how that influenced attacks etc.
I've attached a simple mockup report like this and also included a dropbox link below: dl.dropbox.com/u/102726402/Peloton/Peloton-Example-Race-Report.htmlAttachments:

i hope that a solution will be found for the race report because now is too slow to follow and hard to skip parts.

In my view, this looks okay and very easy to handle..

This race report slowness issue just got raised again in the Div 2:2 forum.
I find the race report so slow that 99% of the time I don't look at it - not sure whether anyone else finds this?
Would it be possible to see all the information in the race report instantly in one go, without waiting or manually skipping through the sections? I made a suggestion on one way this might be done a couple of posts above this one in this thread.

Help us It takes about 5 seconds to start the report and skip to the end for me, so I don't see why this is such a big deal. But I agree that the report should work faster and more efficient. It would also be very nice if there was a scroll button to select a part you want to see.
