Hi all
I was just selecting my team for the Giro when i started wondering what te best choice of rider is that will fight for the green jersey. Is it the rider with the most amount of sprint or is flat more important then i guessed?

1/3 the field where the sprint is, 2/3 sprint. But the cyclist has to be good overall, because there is no point for the winner of the sprint of the grupetto.

I have the feeling you have the most chance with your best flat cyclist, since the greater part of the races in a great tour are flat. So you're sure he'll be in the head of the peloton and he'll finish a lot of times in the top 5 of a stage. 1/3 the field where the sprint is, 2/3 sprint. But the cyclist has to be good overall, because there is no point for the winner of the sprint of the grupetto. I'm still not convinced, isnt it better to have a cyclist that gets top 3 in each (mainly) flat stage and doesnt get any points from mountain stages, then to have an overall cyclist that finishes in both flat as mountain stages in top 10? Off course, taking your very best cyclist will always be the best choice, especially if his main stat is flat i guess.
