Any tips on selecting cyclists for races and tours?
The Italian tour is coming up and it contains two TTs, a fair bit of flat and mountain.
How should I balance these skills against other factors such as exp, steering and balance?
All my 30 cyclists have a great mix of skills. i would be interested to discover how others select for races and tours?
also should i reject any who are not 100% fit?

first of all, only start with 100% fit cyclists. 5 or 10% might not seem much, but riding 11 stages with 5 or 10% less fitness really adds up.
For selecting cyclists, i don't really look at xp. I've won tours with 2 steering/balance, so that is something to keep in mind, but not really a good reason to bring a cyclist to a tour, or to leave him at home.
My way of selecting a cyclist was: add up all flat, hill, mountain, downhill, sprint and tt of a tour. Add those numbers with the skills of your cyclists on those particular surfaces. The cyclist that ends up with the hightest number is the most suited cyclist for the tour. then i brought my highest mountain skiller to go for the mountain jersey, and maybe a moutain stage, and maybe a flat specialist to go for one of those few flat stages. takes some time, but then again, so does any other addiction.

thanks for the help guys...
I like the advice on the big tours...(Giro = M, TDF = F, etc)
I have managed to export (copy) the list of cyclist from the cyclist summary to a neo spreadsheet.
I can do the maths from there but when I lose my initial premium I will not be able to do that anymore :-(

why wouldn't you be able to do that anymore once premium expires? All you need is the cyclist summary and that's available for non-premium users as well.
