I have a rider that is near the end of his contract. His current wage is 3000 ish. For a new contract he wants 18000! I tried offering 6000 with lots of bonuses but he turned me down. So I have transfer listed him.
But whoever buys him will only have to pay wages of 3000 ish. I have 2 questions. Can I buy him from myself? And will I be then paying wages of 3000 ish but with a longer contract?!!?
PS I hate these contract negotiations, I'd rather watch paint dry.

No. If you buy your own cyclist, he'll have the same contract details as before (except for the length, ofcourse!). Is that really a yes then?! I am currently paying him 3000 ish, so if I buy him he will have a longer contract with wages of 3000 ish. Rather than the wages of 18000 I would have to pay if I gave him a new contract, without selling him!

Yes indeed, you can take the risk to put him on the transferlist. If no one overbids you, you'll just have to pay a fine. (I don't remember how big that fine is.)

I was wrong. If you buy your own cyclist, he'll keep the entire contract. So the length remains the same too. Sorry for my wrong explanation.

Okay. In that case it is best for me to sell my riders that want high wages and then buy similar skilled riders with much lower wages and longer contracts, i.e. there is no point giving a new higher contract to any rider.
