Hi,
I'm new to the game, and wanted to get some advice. I bought a 20 skilled sprinter trainer a few days back. After having a look through some threads here, I see many prefer flat or mountain trainers. Have I made my first newbie mistake?
Is mountain/flat what midfield is to Hattrick?
Thanks for your time,
Toby

Yes, you can consider that only flat and mountain trainers can train the only cyclists that can win races at the moment. But with a sprint trainer, and with a good strategy, I think you can make profits by buying/training/selling the right cyclists.

don't forget hill-trainers ! they surely can win races too and even get divisionchampions, their chances are just a little slimmer, the other 3 skills just aren't used enough ...

well, if you have a good sprinter trainer, and make some good sprinters to, then you can win sprints and sprint jerseys... but then you should start with a flat-3 or something... good luck

I don't know... in my division, hill trainers have some difficulties, so they changed they training. Anyway, top rankings are ruled by several flat trainers, and a mountain trainer, even fitness addicts cannot be anymore on the top!

So only a good sprint skill is not a sufficient condition to win sprints.

Thanks for the input all Do you think I would be better hiring a new mountain trainer, or staying with the sprinter?

If it was me, I would by a lot of young riders with good flat skill (3) and not too many 0's in the other skills. Then you have a decent training programme going. Make som quick money on that, then try and get some cheap older guys with other skills as well to compete in the races. Then train your coach up to 14 in flat and mountain, so that he will loose his sprint skill first when he drops. But I've only played a month, so don't hang me up on this
