Back in Div 3 (where I belong) after a $2m loss season in Div 2 - sigh
3:4 looks like the classic Peloton division where the biggest battle is not to promote - the 3rd position championship will be tough this season lol
Judging from cyclist salaries the division should go like this:
1. AMG Petro: 6 over 30k, 2 over 20k and 6 over 10k: only came 7th in div last season so assume doesn't enter many races with his top guys - they are quite old so don't think this is a case of waiting to promote with them. He promotes if he wants but presume not.
2. Coolness: 2 over 30k, 6 over 20k and 11 over 10k: winner of the 3rd place cup last season. A better set of cyclists than both teams who promoted so as with AMG promotion is in their hands if they want it. Younger set of riders so imagine choosing his moment to make a run at div 2 - do they want it this season or not - we will wait and see
3. Antwerp: 17 over 10k: demoted from div 2 last season. His top riders are approaching the end of careers so maybe due for a reset. Imagine lost a stack of cash in div 2 last season and so likely will not want to promote. one option could be to make a bunch of cash this year and then radically cull costs for his next div 2 season to try and retain the cash he makes this season. Difficult spot
4. Trapper: 9 over 10k: gets quite even salary-wise at this point so there's a few that are interchangeable. 4th last season so will put him next. In danger of promotion if the stronger 3 throw their seasons
5. Flamme Rouge: 2 over 20k and 6 over 10k: 5th last season and needs to aim for similar this season as danger of promotion is real
6. Wearl: 1 over 20k and 6 over 10k: 8th last season - could go higher this season and will need to be careful not to do too well and promote
7. Kunanyi (my team): 6 over 10k: demoted from div 2 where was completely outclassed. top riders getting old now and will likely be less equipped next time around. Need the cash so have a feeling will end up promoting but without banking the cash needed to lose heavily in div 2 next season. I am a sucker - you are very welcome div 3:4
8,9,10: Mktteam, Polhill, Bamberg: 3 young teams, 2 newly promoted: zero riders over 10k. Will need to either keep costs down, buy some old riders or rely on stronger teams not trying in order to get some cash - can't aim to demote as there are 2 managerless teams
11, 12: Managerless Tornados & Eskamuhla: they'll demote unless one of the teams goes all out for demotion and doesn't enter any races
