Hello there! Hope you all enjoy season 26.
Although this season has just started, we are already busy with the preparations of season 27. I am going to make the calendar and I want to make some kind of “best of”. So if you think certain races or tours from, let’s say last 10 seasons should absolutely be in that calendar, than PM me with what race(s) and why.
Starting point is that I want to make a calendar where you heve to make choices and a calendar where there is room also for wins for teams who are lower in the division rankings.

I can remember some good mountain stages:
Albertville → Plateau de Solaison 2017- epic win of Fulsang taking the GC- Criterium of Dauphine
San Lorenzo de El Escorial → Cercedilla 2015 - all out attack by Astana taking the Gc- Vuelta España
Venaria Reale → Bardonecchia 2018 - Froome epic solo - Giro Italia

Of course all the major classics should be in there. For the lesser classics: I did enjoy very much a sprint version of the Strade Bianche.

Races like the Milan San Remo stage next sunday appeal to me. Beside the sprint races helpers otherwise never seem very useful. I hope for more races with attack points only in the 2nd part in the race. Also in tours this would give more tactical options.

You got me thinking. 2 more ideas:
1. Tours like Tour of Alberta in season 25 or especially World Ports classic from season 23 because most tours are won by regular allrounders or mountainallrounders. In these tours you focus more on specialists who will have to choose their tactic specific for one stage or the yellow jersey.
Something like Hammer series from season 22 was nice too.
2. More chances for the green jersey being won by a rider high in sprint by having more sprint points before the first attack point, preferably in more than one stage.
This is no critic on the current calendar by the way, I haven't checked past week 5 yet.

Nice idea Ab Normaal. I think there are many good stages in the database, some of which might be never used in an actual calendar. I agree with pollyjean that races where team strength pays off, i.e. sprint stages or late attack races with long parts (and varying terrain) give room for interesting tactics. The edition of Milano - San Remo (id 1174) in the current calendar is a nice example and also Clasica San Sebastian (id 1173) is one I like. Further, Tour of Japan has the funny ultrashort mount Fuji climb stage (1061) (and also Inabe (1057)) and also NP Plitvicka Kezera - Split (1004) of Tour of Croatia is funny one with its 16 attack points. Some races in which different types of cyclist have a chance are also nice, for example GP Montreal (213) and a bit outdated Rio Road race (990). To give multiple teams a chance sprints before the first attack point or early in the race may be a good solution indeed (especially in grand tours). Sometimes there are stages where the stage winner gets the mountain or point jersey for free, or similar in the World port classics the GC winner automatically wins the mountain jersey (as there are no mountain sprints in both of the races). This feels like the winner takes it all, although this is not so easy to avoid.

The calendar of season 27 is ready. A challenging one with races over 6 continents. We even succeeded, as the first cycling organisation, to get permission to have a race in North Corea!
The season will start in Australia. All monuments will be ridden, and the calendar also contains Naspa's wish of the sprint version of Strade Bianchi, Polly's wish for this season Milan - San Remo and the World Ports Classic and his wish that the green jersey can be won by a sprinter in a Grand Tour is also present in one Grand Tour. Furthermore the Clasica San Sebastian Heppie desired is there and also the Rio Road Race which in this calender is named as the WC road race.
In numbers:
3 Grand Tours (2 of 10 stages, 1 of 9) 1 Medium Tour (5 stages) 10 Small Tours (3 stages of which only 1 has a weekly update in between, for the fitness haters) 1 U21 Tour 6 U21 one day races (with races for all terrains) 9 sprintraces 7 ITT 2 TTT
I always like that a manager needs to make choices. So this calendar forces you to choose. That means sometimes there are two similar races in the same week. This gives, in my opinion, more chances for the lower ranked teams to win races and get some decent results.

Is there any information regarding the promotion of #3-teams from div 5 tot div 4? The number of active teams in div 4 and div 5 is quite low..

upcoming weekend is a season update. With rearrangement of Div 4 and Div 5. The management is looking for making the competition in 4 and 5 more fun and more competitive. Just a little patience. ;-)

We decided to keep the 3nd place in div 5, is more fair to them. This way next season they can win a lot and make money to build better the team to fight higger divisions.

Hi Peloton managers,
update is done and now we are ready for another season.
This is the rest week but you can always check contracts, buy merchandise, set sponsor contract and give a look in the transfer list for cheap riders.
We made some updates in div 4 and 5 for this new season, lets hope this will make it more competitive.
1st stage of the season 27 will be day 7 July, don't forget to set your team.
For any doubts please check the forum, there is always people to help.
Good luck
