Hi,
I'm interested in how sprints work. How do helpers actually help your sprinter.
A percentage of all flat parts are added extra with only the sprint skill of every rider of your team.
How does it work with helpers helping your sprinter?

Not much respons. To my opinion they are in two ways important:
1. During the race: helping the sprinter get to finish and making pace to try to drop other contenders. This is sure. To my experience helpers do not support the sprinter with intermediate sprints in tours.
2. In the sprint: They surely help. But how? I think the sprinter gets per helper some extra % boost. I suspect that the flat or sprint quality of the helpers could contribute, but that is far from sure.

I actually think that helpers also support during intermediate sprints. A long time ago in a youngster tour there was a mountain sprint (on hill) before and after the first attacking point, and I could win the first one and lost the second one. I can't really recall the details (it must have been 10 seasons ago now, Ruth was the attacker and Devoldere the helper), but the most plausible explanation to me back then was the presence of a helper (although I'm not entirely sure that the strokes were the same either). For the rest I agree with naspa. I think both aspects are there, but no clue how it's calculated.

Yes, I agree with naspa and bam . Helpers indeed give some boost to the final sprinter, but how exactly is difficult to say. "A percentage of all flat parts are added extra with only the sprint skill of every rider of your team."If I remember correctly this used to be the case in the old race engine (< season 4), but not in the current one. In the current engine a combination of the sprint skill and the terrain skill of the last part are decisive, where the sprint skill weights heavier for flat than for hill and especially mountain finishes.

from my experience heppie's explanation is right. The last part is crucial

Probably skills from helpers are added to youre final sprinter? I suspect this. It is not huge, but to my experience due to this it is not always the best sprinter that wins. Camozzi last year in the big tours won the flat sprint races of Genon and Leonte. In the intermediate sprints he was no better than nr.3. In the final sprints, no matter if the part was 5km or 8km flat, he was the best. Only explanation I can think off: he had 4 dedidacted helpers - als I did not have climbers on save fitness.
