The season is now half way and those who where interested and motivated had the opportunity to find out themselfs how that form works nowadays. We will now share some of the details :
Every cyclist has a hidden skill which determines how many races he needs to get in top form (10) and back (to 4 –> formvalues below 4 are reserved for injured cyclists), the skill consists of a whole number between 1 and 9.
Simply put a cyclist of formtype 1 will hit the the top form after just one race, but will lose all form ater the next one (classic/stage hunter type). A cyclist with formtype 9 needs 9 races to be at his best but can maintain that form longer, he will only be back at the bottom in his 18th races (Grand Tour GC-type). Growth and decrease of form are linear, like most variables on peloton the formvalue has hidden decimals.
The number shown as funrace form is the expected form for the next race. In the future the recent form will be mentioned on the cyclist page (and the funrace form will disappear) .
Experience determines the part of the formvalue a cyclist can keep/get of his previous, or next, level when he is asked to perform.
edit : changed the wordings in the last sentence.

Wow, nice. Far more complicated than I expected. And of course the formtypes are a new thing to figure out.

Interesting... So now it's up to us to discover the importance of form I suppose? Find out the difference in performance between a 4 form and a 10 form
Can you give us some details about that or is it up to us to find it out ourselves? I mean, is it possible that a mountain 16 with 4 form loses a race against a 12 mountain with 10 form for example? Or is this way too drastic?

So it means there will be one day specialists, grand tour specialists and small tour specialists? Interesting!

Nice Schizm: In mine opinion the game will be better if the manager can SEE right now the riders form (Fantastic, average or in bad form) A great skilled (GC/Tour)rider 55 skill points 16/18 mountain at fantastic shape/form he win every mountain stage.. In very bad form he can forget a top 40 finish GC. Some riders at youngh age they can win stages with perfect form or doing well in the GC. Form must overruled Skills (a decent rider can also win stages or a young big talent) That's my opinion..

Example
Average form 7.8 (funrace 8)
What does it mean? Why the word funrace?

Reading it all again....
Form is 7.8. Estimated form next race is 8.
Attacking wil breng form down or is there no influence?

So P. Abreu's form is (according to his rider page): Recent form (last 5 races): 8-7-7-10-6
His last 5 results: Finished 28 in stage Leganés - Madrid of Vuelta Ciclista a España. Won stage Albacete TTT in Vuelta Ciclista a España. Finished 11 in Clasica San Sebastian. Finished 18 in stage Stoke on Trent - Llanberis of Tour of Britain. Finished 6 in stage Stoke - Blackpool of Tour of Britain.
Combining those two: Finished 6 in stage Stoke - Blackpool of Tour of Britain. He hit Form = 8 Finished 18 in stage Stoke on Trent - Llanberis of Tour of Britain. He hit form = 7 Finished 11 in Clasica San Sebastian. He hit form = 7 Won stage Albacete TTT in Vuelta Ciclista a España. He hit form = 10 Finished 28 in stage Leganés - Madrid of Vuelta Ciclista a España. He hit form = 6
So next stage in Vuelta he will ride in form 6? And if he wins the stage he will hit form = 10 again? I don't see in what way there is a hidden skill that determines how fast he will hit top form. Just perform worse than top 20 and form = 6, win and form = 10.

As I see it, the forms you name are not the forms mentioned in this topic.
You can see the form of the cyclist when you change tactics for a stage.
I myself must figure it out how it works. Before the race today versus after the race:
Bythell 6,6 -> 7 after : 6,6 -> 7
Allaer 7,4 -> 8 after : 7 -> 8
Grilo 8,2 -> 5 after : 8,2 -> 4
Helmich 6,4 -> 9 after : 6,2 -> 8
Quintana 7,2 -> 8 after : 7,8 -> 10
What does this say? That Grilo is a one stage cyclist? And since his form next stage will be a 4 is he going to be injured? (below 4 = injured apparantly) Quintana and Allaer and Helmich are tour men And what about Bythell?
Can anyone help me on this one? Is this system already implanted? Or will it be next season?

When I check the tacticks setting page I see: Average form: 7.6 (FunRace: 7 ). Which is not strange 7,6 is exactly the average of 8-7-7-10-6. I assume the Funrace-part doesn't play a part in tacticks for real races.

It's exactly the opposite... It's mentioned a few times before: the form used for the race is the funraceform (Funrace: x). That number changes after every race. Note that number after every race of your cyclist and you know his curve.

I was worried, never having anyone at form 10 lol

Guys can someone cut through this and give me a little insight here? I am really struggling with this, naybe I am thick - don’t answer that!
- the relevance? Is it important? How much impact does it have on results? - danger of injuries if form 4 means likely injury? Can you prevent this? - how can I work out for a cyclist their preference to GC grand tour, or stage hunter as mentioned? - how can I use excel or other tools to work all this out?
Seems overly confusing and complicated to me.... help please?

Just write down the form value after each race a cyclist rides and you'll see something like 4-7-10-7 or 4-5-6-7-8 etc.
A danger of injury is new to me. Did you make that up yourself?
