No flattering results until now. Bit of -like usual stupid- mistakes as well - yesterday not in the occassion to finetune my tactis. But like said before - no answer to Slayers offensive, Slayer is domination until so far. Also for todays race Renner looks favorite. Morgan of Dirk is also expected upfront, with VdGG Papapelli. Dis I overlook a rider?
I guess Chosen can take 2 jerseys here. Mountain is already for dirks Istok, but for Green and Yellow are for the grab if Schuller can keep up with the pack, I guess he will be safe in the final Climb. Can Slayers Toto drop him before the climb?

pollyjean. Yes, last few seasons 3:2 was always the most active. And last year was not much to do in 2:2. But I guess with Rarau, Dustin and Slayer the predictions, speculations and analysis are totally back. Happy with that. Makes the game a few times nicer than just looking at results and stats.

Well, an amazing end of an exciting first week. I did not see Franco coming. Congratz Thor. Renner just came a bit short, not bad Slayer. Congratz to VdGG as well for his strong riding!
I guess Schuller was not played today for GC, but Kirsch for the day victory. He would have won in there would not have been that final climb. However, with so many different attackers the other days, winning the first race was enough to grant green to Secret.
And two unexpected prices for me. Guidulli stole the YC - while VanCanney was the card played at the first two races. And Ximenes finally did what he is supposed to do for his luxurious wage - might keep him a bit longer.

Yup, Ximenes was worth his wage this week. Always nice when the tactic and plan you had in mind works out like you wanted. Schuller didn't want to go all in, Istok already had his jersey and Toto ... it was tempting to try him for GC, but I need him the coming weeks. Still, I don't think he could have beaten Ximenes. Deserved yellow jersey !
Of course Im happy with the first week. It was exciting to see if my riders could compete for the win, and they all came pretty close. Only Secret was a level (way) too high. Lets see what other riders will catch the eye the coming weeks.
Good week too for VdGG. A lot of 2nd and 3th places ... the icing on the cake was missing but for sure he will take a win soon. I expect him to be a hard contender for promotion.
Again ... a very open division it is !

Dis I overlook a rider? Well, an amazing end of an exciting first week a disapointing week for me. It was also because was a mostly a hill week. I need to put my cyclists only in races made for them not in all races I need to change my targets from place 2 to 9, 2 days ago i choose my sponsor for 1 season i'm not sure today if i choose right. But knowing that is a week not for me 92 points are good but are mostly from sprint stage. I dont like the classament from Tour de San Luis with almost nothing in jerseys. Only place 4 for teams. I wait for week 3 and week 4 looks much better for my team then week 1 For week 2 i dont know what to expect. This start of the season it was/it is a more difficult then other season maybe because sprint stages but at least this season i like sprint stages ... in 2-3 seasons i will not like anymore sprint stages . My first impression after week 1? Slayer will be number 1 and will promote. All others will play for places 2-12 , now i dont see a team who have chances for place 2 all teams are close. For relagation also will be probable close.

Well, based on the first experiences, Slayer's place 1 is for sure. Unless he decided his riders needs one more season in second division. But in that case he has to pull the breaks pretty soon.
For me the most likely suspect for getting place 2 now is VdGG. We know a lot can change in a division after the first Grand Tour. But VdGG has some excellent old leaders providing him many options and a broad squad to enjoy this. (He is advised to think of a plan for next season in 1:1 when retirement might hit the team hard.)
Chosen has some very good riders that will be on the top their powers soon - but the squad seems less broad and the 25yr old leader has still some growing to do. Low's leader as well - preparing new generations promotion is not wanted for another few seasons.

So, what about tomorrow? I would say top 5-6-7 all will go for their chances for the day win and GC and Mountain Jersey. Point Jersey is most likely for Slayer already. I think Dustin might surprise us all -well maybe not anymore- with a duo attack of Rohart and Chisca!
