JoeLag I saw also some strange things yesterday, what I could not explain my leader Sida was behind the peloton around part 9, and suddenly a bit for the peloton. no attack, race at 70%, and only 2 skills mountain Also I saw in an other division an 19 years old without attack (on sf) a bit earlier at the finish then the peloton Strange things

I've never seen a strange report like that in the game - my first idea was to outrageously cry "Betrayal! Bug!". But maybe it is valid because obviously there are some very strong mountain cyclists in the Vuelta and they indeed invested a little bit more effort than Aliou Henrard: Aliou Henrard has 13 mountain/9 TT but indeed 72 kg of weight and only 5 sprint. So this was the standings after part 3: 1. Melodia 1 00:55:52 2. Brassard 1 00:55:52 3. Cavaco 2 00:56:11 4. Clementino 2 00:56:11 5. Renuart 2 00:56:11 6. Folle 3 00:56:37 7. Tagliaferri 3 00:56:37 8. Henrard 3 00:56:379. Schiettecatte 4 00:56:56 10. Granatiero 4 00:56:56 11. Carnea 4 00:56:56 12. Goeders 4 00:56:56 13. Niculaie 4 00:56:56 14. Waer 4 00:56:56 15. Venturelli 4 00:56:56 Note the 19 seconds gain on the Peloton. I was thinking: Well, quite ok, and now he is setup to attack in his best terrain - maybe he can pass 2 or 3 cyclists and he surely will gain another minute on the peloton. But then this happened: 02:04:58 Group's 3 pace is too fast for Henrard, he gets behindMind: No fall, no flat. Standings after part 4: 1. Cavaco 1 02:11:13 2. Paparelli 2 02:11:24 3. Brassard 3 02:12:24 4. Melodia 4 02:12:45 5. Zijerveld 4 02:12:45 6. Coucke 5 02:13:04 7. Clementino 6 02:13:21 28. Pettini 7 02:14:05 9. Renuart 8 02:14:34 10. Folle 9 02:15:03 11. Henrard 10 02:15:1112. Vandermeersch 11 02:15:13 13. Feron 12 02:15:34 14. Van Grinsven 12 02:15:34 15. Goeders 12 02:15:34 Can somebody explain to me what happened? See: A 13 mountain cylist rides with 75% against a bunch of peloton riders with 70% - attacks ... and only gains 4 seconds in a 14 km long 15% mountain section? If I come to think about it: BETRAYAL! BUG! Summarized and compared with Zijerveld: Time spent over part 4: Henrard: 01:18:34 Zijerveld: 01:15:49 Other values that mather: Henrard: effort: 75%, MO 13 , TT 9, SP 5, 72kg Zijerveld: effort 75%, MO 8, TT 10, SP 3, 80kg So yes, there clearly happened something strange. What might be a reason: Henrard was together with Folle and Tagliaferri. Maybe if all 3 attack, there doesn't happen an attack, so they all ride only "normal" on that part. After the part, Folle is nearby Henrard and Tagliaferri is even way behind.

Can anyone analyse the funrace national for Portugal. Cavaco raced there and screwed it up. Probably because I don't know how new race engine works.
Who can tell me what happenend?
First time I raced with the new engine. What should I have done and why?

First time I raced with the new engine. What should I have done and why? New race engine works differently from the one we use. In the new engine riders that attack lose strengh from attack to attack, also the peloton now chase the escapes, so if you have very good helpers they will chase and increase the pace in the last part of the race, so to have success in early escapes only happens if helpers are weak in peloton, otherwise you can only have success with late attacks or in final sprint. I set my team with helpers with > 13 mountain skill , Cavaco has 18 mountain but rode in the attack since the beginning and was caught near the last climb, my surprise was that he lost contact in the mountain part due to fatige: we already simulate other and in some cases the escapes keep the pace of the peloton. I don't know details because the only one that knows the new engine is @schimz, so only him can explain why the best mountain rider cannot follow the 1st group.

I am not sure if this is a good change in the engine. For this to work like it is supposed too u need a new (hidden?) stat … In reality some riders are better in long escapes (dont have fatigue as fast as others for example)... then other… U need this in the game otherwise please don't do it...

First time I raced with the new engine. What should I have done and why? In this funrace, you probably would have had more chance of winning if you stayed in the peloton as long as possible and only attacked for the first time at the last mountain attack point. Like ElGringo said, at that point, Cavaco didn't have any energy left anymore because he was riding solo all the race. That is off course because it's a funrace, so every cyclist can ride at 100% (therefor the pace of the peloton is rather high). Next season, in a real stage of a tour, the most cyclists will ride at 70%, so than I think Cavaco can make it till the end easily. That depends also on the fact wether Melres United aka Team SKY will stay in Div 2.1... The first weeks of next season will definitely be very interesting!

ok lessons learned I posted something in funrace topic
To many changes without proper explenation and many hidden factors is not good for a game. You'll loose many managers this way.

Today was a good day in the Vuelta for my team. Second place for Renuart in GC at the moment, and the podium seems very likely now. In the youth classification Vandermeersch looks like he is almost unbeatable now...

It's TT-day today. Will Castelo Branco win a TT in each big tour in one season? Vanlanduyt and Baumann apear to be the mean threats to that. And Coucke of course, but he is going for GC I suppose. Good luck today!

quiller: Coucke and Clementino aren't that far behind. But Top 4 seems sure indeed. Good luck in fight for podium! And already congrats with your youth jersey. headcase: In the Giro, the difference with Vanlanduyt was clear. And Baumann already has less energy. The victory should be yours.

Unfortunately not. In the giro the TT was mountain and hill only. Tarazona today had some flat and downhill. Besides Castelo Branco is older, so he is declining in skill quicker than Vanlanduyt. Congratulations to Mike!
