well, let's hope he can pull this one in. I think everyone would grant him this victorie. Normally it would have been decided, but I had to save fitness with him as he started the Vuelta at only 81% fitness. The first 2 stages he lost around 9mins to Ginanni. Never thought he could close that gap. Wasn't even the plan to play him for the GC, but he did so well in the mountain stages that I changed course. Would be a hard one to crack if I miss this one. But it might even be harder for Ginanni, losing this Vuelta using fitness training:s Anyway, it lowered my ambition with Ribeiro. Had to use my LS for other goals. Otherwise it would have been a nice one with Zijerveld. Now it's decided. He'll never lose 9 mins, from what I have seen he has a decent flat skill. Maybe I can still catch Cimiotti. We'll see. Good job from Zijerveld though and with his 24 a good rider too watch next season.
Things are decided in GC I guess. Difference between headcase and Gik is made, don't see that closing anymore. 12 races left, only the battle between 3 and 7 is still entertaining :-)

Well, Ginanni will go definitely all the way for the win. Hopefully he can follow on the mountains and get a gap on the flat parts. But I would already be happy with the points jersey.

Well that was an astonishing 12 seconds deciding La Vuelta! Let's see if we can triple that in Slovakia. I don't know if you noticed it, but Vindevogel lost connection with the peloton twice this stage today. All helpers were 100% devoted to him. Tomorrow the terrain suits Vindevogel better. Did you notice Van Groens TT by the way?

yeah I noticed, I actually did not expect that. I expected this kind of race for tomorrow's stage, certainly not today. I assume that your helpers have decent hill/downhill skills? To be honest, I hoped to get a bigger gap in the GC today. Nothing left in the flat stage tomorrow since my cyclists are not the best flat riders:p Hopefully vindevogel can keep it up.

Main skills are all decent. The riders I use this stage race are all excellent TT-riders and Vindevogel has a good sprint So I'm hopeful for today. I've also noticed that sprinting isn't very much influenced by fitness.

Falling 31 places in GC on the final day. I love this small tour and I want it every season! This was the way I wanted to try it and I failed miserably. Next time I will have to take it easier in the prologue. Top 5 of our prologue is not in top of GC after three stages.
And Congrats to St Etienne for his first GC win this season!

Or save 1 helper for the last stage. Your entire team was at about 60% fitness. And off course the timetrial was only 5 flat km.
I'm a bit dissapointed too. I had set my youngster on "GC", but apparently my helper didn't help him (he did help another cyclist who was set at GC though).
But some nice results indeed: - A 24y old wins a race - A very unexpected winner of GC (My bets were on Lezzani, but he had to save energy for next week, just like Gauvin).

it seems that the TT skill really decided this tour if you ask me. Weird and unexpected results. I also think that you asked too much from vindevogel in the first 2 stages Headcase. He started at what fitness %? If you say that today's stage suited him better, than fatigue must be the reason.
Micheels, What do you guys think? I guess 12SP, low flat and TT. Lets say 7 both? Anyway, nice win...

Truyens beats Micheels in the intermediate sprints, so has better sprint skill. I assume Micheels beats Truyens in the final sprint because of more helpers (3), or Truyens was not set at final sprinter. Brockmans finishes 2nd with only 8 as sprint skill. And Micheels had 98% fitness left. So in theorie SP 8 could already have been enough to win the race... Viewing the result of the first race, I wouldn't even think his TT higher than 5.

Brockmans is on the list, now I can tell you 100% certain that the Flat skill is/was very deciding in yesterdays sprint stage. If I compare this with Gracia's stats, his Sp and TT are better than Brockmans. Sprint even a couple skill points:-s, and he also began the race at 98% fitness.
Today was a stage for Castello. I was looking forward to a battle with baumann, but I needed his LS in the Vuelta. Too bad, we won't find out who was the best TT specialist in 2.1 this season. Congrats anyway

Yeah, of course I had some helpers for Micheels and if I recall it correctly Duploy in his last race of his career (still 11 flat with 40 years) as well as Engelborghs ( only 7.1 flat) both had 90% at race start and of course went at 100% to help him win the sprint. I myself was very disappointed that Ceccanti lost the Peloton in the 2nd stage. Of course I shouldn't have set him to 100% in the TT (otherwise: a 3rd place in a stage is quite ok). Starting at 65% the 70% effort for the 2nd stage was too less - in spite of mountain 7.7 and TT 11.4 - really wouldn't have thought that he could get dropped out of the Peloton. I even had set him on "GC" for the 2nd stage. But I agree: This was a very interesting tour! I would like to see that or a similar setup for next season again! Edit: Note that Micheels even had 4 helpers for the final sprint - all my cyclists went 100%.

And unfortunately he is terribly injury prone

evild Vindevogel rode the following efforts: 95, 100 and 100. So at the start of final stage his fitness was 35% JoeLag Ceccanti loding it in stage 2 surprisesd me as well. That should’ve been his stage. evild Let’s agree that the WC-champion is the best 😃 But I agree there are a lot of potentials for TT-riders this week.

Standings for our U21-riders. With 1 TT to go. SpartaB 638 Headcase Pro Cycling 516 Bolt Thrower 473 StreetFighters 291 Groenenhoek 288 Schizmano Development 173 WC VroOom 143 Neo 129 GIK team 119 St-Etienne cyclo team 110 KS Crusaders 110 DeZweters 4
Barendregt 242 Bugin 208 De Schrynmakers 184 Hazeleger 146 Nees 115 Rico 110 Boggi 105 Skory 100 van der Plaats 89 Linden 84 van Raaij 77 Voos 74 Keignaert 72 Dusolie 65 Everts 60
So chances are that SpartaB will win this classification. But if Headcase riders Van Heeswijk and Hazeleger become 1 and 2 tomorrow and no SpartaB-rider will become 3rd position. It can happen.
