A pleasant end to a Giro d'Italia to forget soon. Winning the ITT uphill and 2nd in the flat ITT in Barolo proves the quality of my ITT-riders. Please take not of Van Groen finishing 12th in the stage today. That man is worth millions already, I'm sure.
Edit: third win on a thursday...

it's difficult to pay much attention to youth results. For my team, I buy cyclists at a young age (18) and keep them until they turn 21. Then it's the time to make a selection. If they don't reach a certain amount of skill points, I sell them and start again. So that means there are seasons where I will hardly score any points/results, while at 21 they should bring me some wins. At least I hope. xD. Some only buy 21y olds and go for results on short time, others do it my way. Which is best? That's something that each team needs to decide for themselves. I don't focus on TT in my youth bosko, certainly not at the beginning of their training. To give you another example, Brandsson is 19, ended 7th last Friday with TT... 0 :-)
Nice battle in Giro, Lamego got slammed and was left with nothing. Same thing happend last season I thought. With his 38 and 90k wage, I would reconsider the fact of selling him. Only 1 victorie this season. Not enough if you ask me. Weird tactics were used, I think there was no real cyclist who could take the upper hand, they were all somewhat equal to each other. Div 1.1 and 2.2 were faster times, hard to compare, I know, but it's an indication. Still don't understand the idea of 10 and 11 extra fitness points, but that's just a personal opinion. Now off to France, where we will face lots of flat parts:s

Well, not everybody has a multiskilled trainer at their disposal. 😊 So these teams (me included) have to buy some older cyclist or are else very limited in the races they can compete in. Nice battle in Giro, Lamego got slammed and was left with nothing. Same thing happend last season I thought. With his 38 and 90k wage, I would reconsider the fact of selling him. Now off to France, where we will face lots of flat parts:s In the beginning my plan was to go for the GC with Lezzani. But he lost some unfortunate time in the first stages, so I switched to Acerbi. Luckily this paid out and he rode a phenomenal time trail on the last day to take the win at the end. I’m very surprised he still performs this good, because his skills are getting quite low. Last weekend was not so good for me. I got 2 riders injured and noticed I had chosen Espino by mistake in a race last week instead of an other rider. Because of this he was missing some fitness and that cost me the win on Saturday.

Stinus, that's your own choice. I noticed you have 11 fitness points. You could easily train hill or mountain instead and have a multi skill trainer yourself. But, as I said, that's a personal choice. Others train fitness, some train 1 main skill. Every choice has its pro's and con's. Nothing wrong with that.
Why did you decide to play Lezzani for the GC in Giro? If I'm not wrong, I thought he was a flat rider with average hill and mntn??

He is indeed. But Acerbi is not really better. He has only a much higher TT skill and apparently this was more important than a high flat skill. I did not expected the big time difference in the ITT's.

haha, funny to see an average hill and mountain guy doing so well in a big tour. Unexpected.
I hoped to compete with you guys in TdF. Sadly, my GC guy Dirven got injured for 4 weeks yesterday. Damned. It was the only big tour where I wanted to go for a decent result with only 1 Sunday update in it. He also misses the Vuelta. And I also lost De Waen for 4 weeks. Seems there is not much left anymore for me this season:(

Last week, I asked if there might be a battle for promotion again. It looks like it's going to be a battle for podium. However, we suddenly have a battle against relegation again! Today can be an interesting last stage in the Tour of Austria. Fazio is already certain of Point and Mountain jersey. Jurewicz seems in poleposition for timejersey. The youngsters are still very close to each other. But a lot of cyclists with 100% fitness that can go full effort today. That promises fireworks for stage victory!
