Well, congrats to you, JoeLag. Brilliant victory by Guiggi. And congratulations for making this big leap against relegation. Now I have to deal with GIK.

Wow, that really went quite fortunate. Guiggi isn't the best downhill cyclist ... only 1 downhill fall would have cost him the GC!
So it paid out for me that I revised my first plan (which was to play Guiggi only for the first stage and Testa for the GC). So I gave 4 attacks to Guiggi and only 2 to Testa for the final stage. Glad I didn't do this the other way round because Testa had his fall and flat ... and his slightly stronger downhill skill in combination with 20% less fatigue didn't gain him an advantage over Guiggi.
If only Paparelli would have been a little bit faster Guiggi even would have won the points jersey. But I'm not in the condition to complain ;-)
As expected Dodos was the rival to watch. This of course has been an extremely mountainous tour. Well, at the end it turned out great ... but I think, Guiggi would have won with a bigger margin if I wouldn't have gone 100% in the first stage - but on the other hand this brought him the mountain jersey.
Great week for team Bolt Thrower ... maybe I can even make it to the top 5 at least in Parigi - Roubaix. So anyway I'm learning to adapt my tactics to the needs of div 2.
But do I remember it correctly? EvilD, did you go only 95% with Dodos? So I think with 100% he would have won the GC - but of course so you can let him start in the Giro - where Guiggi surely won't start.
Have a nice weekend all!

Well i am somewhat surprised that Guiggi took the GC, i assumed he would lose more time in the downhill parts. You got rewarded for the trust you put in him, Joe. Congrats, nicely done. Here we see what a great cyclist he was, and still is. Nice for you to see that your investment pays off
Annoying results for me. 2nd in GC, 2nd white, 2nd and 3rd mountain, 3rd and 4th points, 2nd in stage one. I dont often go all in, certainly not in a small tour. I rather choose to use my riders again in 10 days. Would it have made any difference, maybe. But the same goes for Guiggi. If you didnt go at 100% in the first stage, you wouldnt have won the stage, the gap would be closer, i would have taken some time back in the TT, but maybe or most likely lost it today. I kind of know Guiggi his stats, Dodos is slightly better in all skills except mountain. So we can never know. Fact is you have won this one and thats all what counts. And i dont think dodos will participate in Giro. His next race will probabely be Tour of Japan. Giro will be for my yougsters i think:)

EvilD asked me in game the skills of Castelo Branco. His skills were, until yesterday 3-6-10-1-7-14 Unfortunately he decreased in both Mountain and TT, so it is 3-6-9-1-7-13

Thnx for sharing. I was curious because in 2.2 Andreoli won. He is an old cyclist from me, but he seemed to be one minute faster then castelo branco. I estimated somewhere around 15.

getting rid of sikkes, bosko? Great rider... although I still don't get it why they pay that money for a 37y old, it remains an excellent hiller. Any plans for the future? How high was he at his best?

How high was he at his best? I needed to renew his contract. He was asking 170.000 a week... When I suggested 75.000 a week with big bonusses (bigger than the pricemoney you get), he wanted to stay for 4 weeks. He was the star of my team, so it hurts to put him on the transferlist, but when a cyclist costs more than he returns, whats the use. I might buy him back myself (I did the first bid of 1.5M). It depends on the highest bid by thursday. Off course than his mood won't be the same as it was, so the results might be less too. Anyway, if he gets sold, it will be hard battle to avoid relegation (as it is already). At his best: 7 14 7 7 8 10

Yes, it seems the contract renewal is a little bit broken. Seen this a lot ... if you offer a renewal you have to pay multiple times what the cyclist would earn when he changes the team.
I've done it myself to buy the cyclist that I've fired previously. Indeed just a pity about the mood.

... and thanks for the reminder ... I quickly entered a bid. If he doesn't retire at the end of this season he's a real deal!

why is he a real deal for you Joe? If I do some math: 1,8m transfer price, around 70k wage/week (may drop after sale) multiplied with 11 weeks to play in this season gives us 2,5mil as cost. How are you going to earn that money back? Winning a race only covers his weekly salary, and probably you can only use him once every 2 weeks. Don't think he is the guy to go with for a GC in TdF or Vuelta
Same for next season (if no retirement), 16 weeks * 70k is 1,1mil wage only. You need a lot of wins to cover that. Yeah I know, I don't count the extra supporters you get and the extra prize money you receive for a win or good result in a small tour, and he probably will lower his wage, but I also don't mention the skill drop he will undergo.
I can understand Bosko that he tries to renew his contract on this way, 70k is crazy. Don't bother about his mood, that will be restored quickly

Why pay 70k after a sale or a contract reset his wage will be at 20-25k , that is only a third. Ofcourse you will lose the mood that way, but that should be no big problem.
P.S. : Also, about a month ago I explained somewhere on the forum there is no need to put a cyclist on the TL to let his mood drop. It is just to time consuming ...

I know schizm, I was just pointing out that there is more to consider then only the 13hill stat. Would you buy him in Joe's place? I might say no to be honest
PS: I know you wrote that you gave Zberg a tip about lowering the mood, but didn't do it in public if I'm not mistaken?

I used that method for some younger cyclists. I've put him on the transferlist because I was in doubt of selling er not and I think it was the last possible moment to cash for him. I also doubted if he would still be decent with mood "ok" and was hoping for a huge bid (as I've seen some the past weeks). At the current bid, I'm slightly in doubt... I guess I'll decide tomorrow at 11h am.
