Age 34 and decreasing in skill?

Just wondered if it is possible that a rider decreases in skill at his 34th. The Dutch wiki page says it is not.

Remarkably, I got a message in my inbox after the update that the rider INcreased skill from x to y, while it actually decreased from z to y. From this, I get the feeling that something is not right here..

Happy to hear from someone who is familiar with this.

I have to look it up, to be 100% sure. But first does your cyclist train fitness ? Because that could also explain the decrease.

I am not aware training fitness may lead to a decrease in skill. Good to know!

Skill decreases only become visible when the number before the decimals changes, so a decrease actually happens every time anyone trains fitness (how much depends on age and how much fitness is trained).

Have to look into changing the message yyou got though, so thanks for reporting this.

Thanks! I would expect a drop in transfer value as well following from a skill decrease, right? Or does that also only occur when a skill before the decimals decreases? I have not witnessed a value decrease before, but I did during the last update.

Transfervalue is based on Skillvalue including the first decimal, so the TV will not drop every time (only when the first decimal changes).

f.i.
w1. 10.119 to 10.109 => no effect on the transfervalue (only the random part changes)
w2. 10.109 to 10.099 => the transfervalue will also decrease
