... Naspa, may I have your predictions for the Dauphine please? With a day to go.. A 3-day tour, with a week-update break! So the fitness-training managers will be favorite for GC, finishing with an all decisive impressive ITT-climb on Alpe d'Huez. Probably a rider of Berdios or Quiller (not having publicized a startlist yet) will win GC (and maybe the point rankings as well). - PollyJean has for now only one rider subscribed - which reveals his plans to try to win the YC with Ingo Van Caudenberg. - Naspa starts with a mixed team with all-rounder Ramos who might want to try to end high in GC, while Caso and Cauwels seem to be there for testing and learning at the stages. - Melres brings the upcoming hill/allround expert Strauß en the winner of Paris Roubaix, Pequeno, for stage one or two -or both. - Pedale brings the 34 old Barazetti, who never won a single race in his life (he has start winning soon, as the managers has started selling off some of the riders!), and Maccario, who seems to have good sprinting qualities for a stage win. - Berdioz: Condro, Luz, Ribiere are all pretty decent allrounders. Depending on the strategy, they might go for a stage, or (all?) want to try to end high in GC. Ribiere is maybe the big favorite for GC. - Kasseienstoempers will for sure try to go to win stages and will probably end up with the mountain jersey as well. I suspect with Gommers, as Cwiakala might be more interested in the ITT. Olivetti for stage 1 or gc? - Carapaz brings some serious candidates for the youth rankings. - Ngogo as well along with the climber Arcos, who might be the only real threat to Kasseienstoempers for win on Alpe d'Huez.

No big suprises in last GIRO stage. Congratulations for quiller and ngogo with their (unexpected?) jerseys.
I was thinking to save fitness in the last stage with Buitenhuis but was doubting about quiller really wanting 2nd place in GC with Banciu who could potentially come over the top. So played it at 70% and got 2 minutes left. Choice turned out right.
It still amazes me that Buitenhuis could beat Naz. Skillwise he is not close. Probably because of the following reasons (in the order of importance): - Giro did not really have a mountaineous profile. Only two mountain stages that both have a long flat/hill first part so no big mountain time gaps were made. - attacking stage 1 where the leading group gained a very large time gap. - higher sprinting skill giving some advantage in every first attacking point. - higher lenght/weight giving some advantage in the many hill and flat sections that were present in giro

Yes, congratz to Tirlea and the winners. You did not do bad ElGringo , two stages and Naz being 3d in GC and MC. The biggest surprise was maybe that Naz did not win anything. Maybe the plan (or rather the common expectations) of winning both GC and mountain jersey was too ambitious? And I think that Naz started this week with 5% less fitness than his competitors - this might have been a mistake? pollyjean - the hills seems to have been decisive in this Giro.

Giro didn't suite Naz. We will have another clash in Vuelta between Naz and Buitenhuis is going to be a nice fight

Wonderfull result for me today, 1st win of Strauss since he is in my team. I was hoping for a top spot but never thought he could take the win. Arno Stoop also did well with 27years When I saw Strauss having a flat I though that your rider would win.

Yes, wel done. Strauß did it!. Stoop was close. Today was a good chance for the new generation. But a strange result for me. I let Ramos attack, but he did not get really away. And I let Montauti attack, but he could not keep up with Caso and Cauwels, who were set GC and helper. I think I can conclude that Caso was ready for some attack points today as well - finished without attack point in the same group as Ramos.

Happy with todays result. Secured the MJ and also a good chance on the PJ, unless Luz or Ramos wins the ITT. Curious who will win the ITT tomorrow. I am just aiming for top 10 result in the stage, as high as possible in the GC and the team classicication.

Gommers was expected. And the PJ is sure as well. I do not think Luz or Ramos will win tomorrow the ITT. Cwiakala and Rebiere are better, for sure with 95% fitness left. The fight about the GC is interesting. Rebiere and Luz against Ramos and Caso, while Gommers is still there - but will take it easy tomorrow?
And even in the youngster rankings the game is not yet played.

No, Cwiakala's TT skill isn't so high. His mountain skill is good, but he lacks the TT skill, so he won't be a candidate for the win.

Well, do not overestimate the competition. The next competitors are ageing and were quite ok allrounders - but nothing special. If Rebiere beats CWiakala tomorrow, it is not because of better skill or weight, but because of better mood.

Well, do not underestimate the competition. Pequeno comes out of the blue and takes GC. I thought he was a specialist for the Belgian classics. But seems he has very good TT and decent mountain as well! Congrats ElGringo.

Well, surprised by the 2nd place of Cwiakala. Never expected that, so really happy. But also, like Naspa, completely surprised about Pequeno. To be honest, I did not understood why helder put him up, since I thought he was a flat/hill rider because of his results earlier this season.
Now it seems he can do all! Maybe he was the right candidate for the GC in tehe Giro. I did not expect to win the GC with Gommers, but I thought I would loose it to Berdios.
Stil very happy with the PJ and MJ and mood raise for Gommers.
