Time for a new thread. Warm welcome to the new managers in 1:1 although only Bosko is the only real newcomer.
I am more than happy offcourse to be on top of the ranks for at least a day. At the end of the road I will be happy with second. Going to be a tough one with no youngster teams anymore.
Good luck to all.

I'm indeed a real newbie in this division and I must say I fear this season. The only teams that I know a bit are Op kop de sloot in, Zapardiel and Hüsker Dü, and there was always a big gap between their points and mine. Today I played Sikkes (my personal MVP last season) at 100% and he only got 7th. Doesn't give me much confidence... I guess I'll have to fight for every point and see were it ends. Finishing 8th should be the goal, but will be very hard to accomplish. Good luck to everyone!

From the new teams, I only haven't been in the division with Evcont earlier, but some of the other teams are also quite a long time ago. Expecting a tough season, no youngster teams in the divisions and some strong teams promoted. Therefore my goal is, just like last year, to avoid relegation, although I hope to get the 5th place again of course. Furthermore I will try to be a bit more active on the forum this season, I have been very silent there.
Good luck to all!

Good luck to you all!
I'm not happy to be here, it was not intended. But ok, as long as i'm here, even if i only have a few good cyclists and the others are just crap, i'll give it a try. No specific attributes, no clear tactics, enjoying the season and trying to cling to some points. And if it won't work, i hope i'll get back to 2.2 which i like more than 2.1. But in the mean time, let's have fun and see what it happens!

Good luck everybody. I hope for an exciting and fun season. My personal goal is to equal last seasons result, but without the youngster teams it will be though.

Best of luck this season, gentleman! My goal is to win the league for the 4th time and leave EGV and Franconia behind me in the all-time title standings It seems things might be a bit more challenging this season though, great start so far, Toss!

Hmmm... should I support the rest now? Neh, it would be more than deserved when you take the first place in the all-time ranking.

Well, my first week in div 1.1 surely wasn't a success. Hopefully I can win some spots tomorrow to score some points and some money (really need it). Although this division seems to hard for me, it's fun to see 12 teams who go for it.

It's close indeed. I already managed what nobody could last season; score most points in one week. I'm hoping Heppie will still confirm this with his weekly stats.

Ow yes ... true. I didn't think of that, but you are right there. Nice job ! Thats allready worth a medal.
I really like 1:1 now. 12 strong teams, and ok, you have Droeftoeters, but then you have about 8-9 equal teams. Its gonna be an intense battle all season long. I keep one eye on 1:1 for sure.
Good luck guys !

Last season de Droeftoeters scored the most points in every week. You came close in week 7 with only 4 points less than the Droeftoeters in that week. In total there were only 5 weeks where the difference between the Droeftoeters and the second team in the week ranking was under 100 points... Besides that, de Droeftoeters won the most stages in every week, except for week 14 (in that week I won 3 stages and de Droeftoeters only 1). In week 10 all stages were won by de Droeftoeters.

Nice one, Toss. Congrats. My weak spots are hill and time trails (even more so after selling Capdeville), we had quite of bit of that this first week. So not too surprised I got beat. I reckon it will happen more often this season, especially in the Grand Tour weeks and I also have nothing to bring in the U21 races anymore. I'm pretty sure Season 15 was my peak, from here on out I expect to see a decline in points each season (hopefully not too fast though . Still don't really have a future plan for my team as well, so things will get interesting when most of my guys start hitting that 36 mark (Audoux is already there). At this point in time I don't know how long the game is still going to last though, so I'm lacking a bit of motivation to come up with a decent long term strategy. I really do hope that the teams who went down the youngster route already seasons ago will one day be able to take advantage of that long term plan though!

Yes, sometimes I am still doubting whether I did the right thing. My victory was in S11 and this is already the 5th season I am working on my "new" team. Missed a lot of fun in playing for victory. I am pretty sure that I will be one of the best in a few years, but my oldest riders are already 29 and winning shit. Where the oririnal 18 years old are now 33 and still have 4 years to go before the won't be competitive anymore. One of my best new generation riders only finished 11th in Cadel Evans Great Road Race. 07:39 behind of Caldelli (maybe that is not disaster since Caldelli is one of the best) and also 4 minutes down to Naz and 2 minutes behind riders I have never heard of. So, I guess my riders still need at least 3 seasons to be competitive. My plan is te relegate in S17 to third division, renew all contracts and than work on my mood in div 3 in S18 and promote again to div.2 and div. 1 in S18 and S19 to play for the victory in S20. Which means that has costed me 9(!) seasons then. And hoping the game still exists then.
