Well, that amazing. It shows that with some good tactics you can win the mountain jersey even though there are better climbers. I chose to let my best rider (Guiggi) compete for the general classification and not bother the mountainpoints. He has mountainskill 17, so normally he should win the mountainjersey. I hope to remain in the leading position tomorrow Good luck tomorrow with the final stage

That's it, I didn't care much about the GC but hoped for a stagewin, youngster jersey and a good ranking in the mountains. Stagewin: check (hoped for a 2nd one with Roland helas, he came in 2nd) good mountainranking: check YJ: Funke checked out. injured I won't be any problem to stay ahead c@aisse. The gap between you two will be larger. Need to look out not catching up with him.

Giro looks pretty interesting but not for me. Mr riders are only there to make the numbers up. Tried for stage wins early and blew up badly. It was a weakened team anyway as wanted to target individual races (hoping others dont).
Ofsak came home to win U21 tour! 2nd too in the points jersey. As you say Alesana, I have started the long road back!
I can only dream of 7M in the bank bart1985 but welcome to the forum. It will fascinating for me to get an insight to the thinking of the leaders in the division. Oh yes 17 mountain WTF! No wonder I have being losing races!
As the season is two thirds through my only decision is whether to scrap through and stay up or drop down to 4 again. It might be better to drop to 4 and get some cash although I think it will be at least two seasons before I can hope to get promoted again.

wheelnut, thats exactly what I did 2 seasons ago. I relegated wit 100 points difference (I maxed my winnings with relegation). I made 10 milion in div4 and actually only bought Guiggi this season. The rest are all rider I used last season as well I gambled now with using max attack in the mountains and hoping to stay in te bunch to keep the winning position. Which I can now see did not happen I didn't even want to promote this season, but it's going so well that I am making it my goal now to make back2back championships The Tour de France will be interesting, any surprising plans guys?

Brainbreaking on tactics? Subscribing 5 youngsters and win TdF, Mountain - Points - Team Jersey and losing the youngster jersey? Haven't seen the stages yet. It's a bit of a puzzle to combine all these different tours - Switzerland; Poland; Dauphiné; and Vuelta immediately after TdF.

GP du Canton: and the winner is: DAFFERN!! You have to do it. Subscribing only ONE cyclist for your team and win the race. What an ego must this guy have. He doesn't need any helper at all!
Well done Breschel.

Alesana - that what makes it fascinating, how to balance everything!
Bart - thx for your comments but I might have gone too far points wise to be relegated now!
I would be interested in your views, now I am no threat to you both, is it worth me buying some replacement cyclists? you may remember sold my best 6 cyclists to stay solvent and now have little chance of challenging for anything but books are balanced (for now). training again (mountain 15) but no youth scout of course and have only 20 mediocre cyclists so not optimum for training. could buy some cheap 21- 23 year olds to train and/or try to buy a 35+ year old with a high skill in something? In a real dilemma on this one, could be very boring for a few weeks but I guess I could survive next season but in what state?
PS Bart I hope you get promotion (cannot see how you will not now) and go for it, as you say, back to back promotions!

Haha one rider? And he wins.. Nice. I think it depends on your chances to relegate, if you think you will maintain in this division you need a rider with good skills, regardless of his age. For the long term you should definitely buy young rider 21-23, train, let the score points and sell when they are 27-28 with at least one skill at 10+.
But like I said before, your best chances if improving is relegating, winning a buttload of cash and come back. At this moment I have the perfect combo of old and young riders, a coach with skill 15 on hill, mountain, sprint, timetrial and fitness, a youthscout with 15 on all 3 (I am getting really good talents now) and 7.000.000 in the bank (after buying Guiggi for 3.5m last month). And I am still making money on a weekly base. So trust me when I say, I only achieved that my relegating twice on purpose. Instead of finishing 4-5-6 in div3 every year.

wow 7m and all that in place...I am a long way off that and I guess I need to get relegated...
This game is a surge game then, winner takes all and as you say finishing 4th or lower is useless in a division. It is in my view too easy for one or two teams to dominate everything! This is not like real cycling in RL things are more 'balanced'. Even Sky do not win everything lol.
Game designers need to consider some sort of balancing mechanism to counter act this. Less patient players go bot all the time, give up, exhausted by being thrashed week in week out.

Less patient players go bot all the time, give up, exhausted by being thrashed week in week out. this game like all others (hattrick) is only about money / finances. If you have a lot of money then you could give good contracts to your stars, you could buy some nice prospects/juniors, a polivalent trainer, scout etc So first money then results. If you are near 0 everytime you need to sell something or cut your costs. My example i have huge costs but on a season i m near 0 now cyclists wage 500.000 i know is too much staff 250.000 other (merchandise) 250.000 Total income current season: Total costs current season: Difference: $10,160,031 $10,288,237 -$128,206 Total income previous season: Total costs previous season: Difference: $16,102,800 $16,225,547 -$122,747 last season i was on place 4 on div 3 when i was in division 2 and i relegate i lost 2.000.000 i think every season when i was on div 2 i lost money, i m not sure. probably best is to have 5-6 stars and till 25 youngsters.

Thanks Rarau...
I play hattrick and battrick and they have mechanisms to help teams who struggle. I guess they are different in respect of you play only one opponent at a time and you will always get a 'gate'. In this game if you finish nowhere i.e. not in the top 10 you get nothing. sponsorship is not enough to cover things if you do not get places in races and there lies the problem. Both these games (BT and HT) I have never had money problems and do not see the team drop out at the same rate as peloton. This game is defo tighter on the money side.
HT for example constantly tweak and change things to keep the balance.

Well, always many strategies are possible. But the one I tried worked well for me But I think you are right when this is not the way you suppose to improve. Plus, doing nothing this season and relegation the next season is extremely boring

A very calm week so far. Did expect Le Nouail to win the ITT. Perhaps I underestimated other ones. Meanwhile injuries keep disturbing the trainingscheme. Hoped to sell Callens for a decent price to Andy. Someone else got away with him. (For a decent price) I'm glad my youngsters are doing well so far. And an acceptable number of pulls by the youthscout. BJA and C@aisse are doing good business this week. Again. Hope to brake even this week.

So Bartje, are you going for fitness Trg? Hmmm, bit of EPO? Schulze on course for the TJ. Guiggi on course for silver or bronze?
