Lol, my team for the Tour isn't good at all: 4.4fl, 1.6hi, 8.8mo, 1.2do, 2.8sp, 10.6tt (which gives an average of 29.4 skillpoints/cyclist ) Maybe I should stop training time trial and get some hill/flat/mountain training But even with my not really good selection I get try to get a stage victory with Andreoli in the time trial. (Unfortunately Angilella is participating and owned Andreoli last time, so with constant training and a small extra mood bonus I don't see how I can win )

Everybody the best of luck for the biggest event of the year ; the TDF. I did pretty good in the Giro, but without my 2 best riders there I won't expect the same here. Congrats, schizm. Masek and Veland were close to the mountain and sprint jersey, but de Quint was too strong in the end. Also a great tour by Coquet. My classement rider was Waetershoot. He did it well, but Coquet covered all his attacks...and the long mountain TT was too long for him :-D How about some AVERAGE STATS? Then I can look at your results and laugh at how badly I'd do in 1:1. (although Ragar today was only 6 seconds off Magne's time) My Tour de France squad: 7.4 flat 5.4 hill 6.8 mountain 1.8 downhill 6.4 sprint 7.4 time trial. Age: 27 My average stats for the Tour are also pretty similar (the difference is only 1 skill point): flat 8.6, hill 5.4, mountain 8.6, downhill 1.4, sprint 5.2, TT 7.0, age 26.4 Good luck everybody!

As all the averages are more balanced than mine I hired a new trainer. Let's hope some more sideskills will give results for my team (next seasons)... I had to think for a while to go for 2 or 3 skills and in the end he got 3 skills. Some mountain and TT cyclists will be trained on flat/hill for at least one season. The question is how hard I should focus on extreme cyclists. Training a 10 flat/12 TT cyclist on hill would be a waste of time I think, the same goes for the best mountain cyclists. If you train sideskills they will never win the pure mountain stages anymore Hard choices. Luckily it's only monday and I have a whole week to change my mind

That is why averages don't tell that much. A team containing a flat sprinter with 15-5-1-2-8-4 and a mountain goat with 1-5-15-2-4-8 also averages a "balanced" 8-5-8-2-6-6 ...

But they do both have 5 hill, something I don't have at all Flat can be usefull to create some GC cyclists, but I do realise that the best mountain cyclists should stay mountain cyclists I would like a 1-5-15-2-4-8 cyclist, don't have one that comes close

Schizm is right. If you only have one kind of rider, you win a lot of points in these reaces, but you don't win any points in others.
Together with the Lions, you have the best mountain riders, and a lot of them. But you can't put them all up in these races, and they are useless in races with hardly any mountains. Other teams have only one or two. Seberla has Bregge, Stenes Martinez, Eboese Malton etc.
That is why Franconia is number one. He has the most balanced team. The Italians are working hard to gain their mountain power.
I don't have the best riders in any terrain, but I gain points on any terrain.
I think that should be your target. And don't train them all on the same skill. Maybe sell one or two and buy something other back.

I should have taken a 2 and a 8 as example (but a combo of 15 with two 8's would be unrealistic to, atleast in my team).

Still waiting for my first win this season.. I only picked up the time jersey in the Giro this season.. By the way, my averages for the Tour de France don't work out that well. As usual, too much focus on mountain: 5,8/1,6/12,2/1,0/6,8/7,8.

Wow, surprising result today. Not the win of the Lions, but the 6th and 7th place of Malton and Martinez.
By the way, we absolutely crushed the other divisions with the time.

Finally a real mountain clash again.. Hopefully, the 1,5 minute Brinks lost with his downhill fall won't cost him too much in the end..

Ofcourse Zevenbergen wins the stage of the seven mountains ! what else did you expect (congratz to the lions btw having such an outstanding climber is astonishing) Also, I was really amazed with the number of cyclists at full force today, guess I should be pleased with finishing 4th between all those big names. P.S. : for those who don't undestand dutch, "zeven bergen" translates as "seven mountains"

I like the scenario that the TTT will be decisive. Nothing is clear until after the second stage.

For me, nothing is clear until after the TTT. I don't have any clue of the TT-strength of the other squads..
