I realized early this season that my lack of TT or dominant Mountain guys makes the GC out of reach in 95% of the races. So my strategy is to pick stages and so far I'm happy with the results. Rumler and Epifano got stage wins by targeting early hilly stages at 100%. In the Tour, that has gotten me wins by Bustos and Seabra, and a second place finish by Batistoni.
Until I get TT trained, my team is going to have to work that way... 100% on stages to get wins and ignore the GC. It's not going to be enough to get me promoted, but it will keep me from relegation I think.

Grr... early fall doomed me today.
Sirucek escaped with the first group and I feel certain he would have stuck with it if he hadn't fallen. He escaped twice more from the peloton on hills (the plan was to get away with the flat guys then try to drop the flat riders on the hills).
I don't know if he would have won, but he would definitely have been in it if not for that fall... I hate when a fall dooms a good plan.

With Epifano taking today's stage, I've achieved one of my goals... a stage win in each GT (2 for Giro, 2 for Tour and now 1 in the Vuelta).
One thing I've gotten from this year is that with the level of competition in this division, I can only win stages built toward my team's strengths (read that as... lots of hills). Despite trying to purchase riders to help on mountains and flats, I don't think they'll ever be able to contend with those from the teams that have focused on those terrains.
After next season I was considering switching my training to more of a mountain focus... but now I'm leaning toward just sticking with my niche... the hills. Perhaps if I get enough TT to not lose huge time on those stages, that might even be nough to win a stage race or two with the right profile.

during sunday training my number 3 in the Vuelta got injured... Serious bumper... (i didn't think to win the Vuelta with him, but a podium place would have been nice
the last three weeks i will try to keep my second place in the division, but i don't know what i'm going to do in 2nd division... (it will be a very hard season for me next season...)

End of season is approaching and we have a battle for 2nd (though 250 points in 2 weeks will require some great results to accomplish). There would look to be a battle for relegation as well... but with Wombats having no manager I'm thinking not.
I'm going to have to make training adjustments, and even then it will take 2-3 seasons before those bear fruit. I'm just hoping to stay in this division for a while. This may be the first since the first one I played where I didn't take a single jersey.

i had too much bad luck in the Vuelta, so the gap between 2 and 3 is again big enough to promote...
But Team Diernaes is too strong, he will survive easily in 2nd division. I hope I can do my thing there :-)
A training switch in a short time A few youth guys from my scout that I can train up to great riders Perhaps a good buy on the transfer market
And a lot of luck... will let me get in the top 8 of 2nd division
I hope you can stay in 3th division kurtinsc, and perhaps we'll meet again (in 2 seasons in 2nd division or again in 3th :-) )

Bah... was fighting to hold on to 4th but ended up dropping to 5th the last race of the season by 13 points. Doesn't matter too much, but every little bit of prize money helps.
I'm starting to move some guys over to TT training, but I don't know if it will have a major impact next season. I'm still way behind the curve there which will hurt especially as the new enging iwll use it a lot more on climbing sections during stages. I think I'm stuck playing a long term strategy at this point... in the short term it's got to be all about avoiding relegation.
Congrats to Diernas and Neo and good luck in division 2. Amnesia and CZW, good luck and hope to see you back soon.
