Quite some activity in our thread, which, of course, I missed completely lately.. Anyway, good luck during the last few races of the season! With quite a few "flat" races remaining for the season I will probably not be able to make it a complete Dutch podium.. On the contrary, the Vuelta doesn't contain enough flat kilometres to beat Malton.. There were in the beginning, but everybody is only attacking or saving fitness so the pace was never that high. Check the standings of both second divisions. They are faster then us. You have had a lot of bad luck this Vuelta. But all others, including myself, have carried Malton to the victory. No one even tried to hurt him. Last Mountain stage he will win for sure and enlarge his lead for the TT. And Tomorrow there is way too much mountain to win anything, so only thing that can happen to Malton is an injury. Congratz on you victory today. You deserved it after the bad luck you had this Vuelta.

Still, there were no pure flat races in the Vuelta this year, like there were in the Giro and the Tour. My team, and probably other teams as well, is only able to seriously harm Malton if a tour contains a few races with long stretches of flat terrain in it. From the heart, that is the reason why Guiggi (and Grazziotin) ended at the top of the general classification of the Giro. However, to be honest, mountains suit my team quite well, so I can't complain about a race or tour having too many mountains in it.. I have had some bad luck, but still, I would not have been able to compete with Malton, especially because of his magnificent time trial. Additionally, because of De Ganck's injury last week he was able to win today's race, so I can't really complain about that.. Anyway, As you say, Malton probably will win tomorrow, unless a reasonable mountain goat will ride on 100%. The Friday race will most likely be a prey for Malton as well..

I already was able to hold Malton from a stage victory the previous week and I will try again tomorrow. The problem is that I already used my best mountain cyclist Maybe the small advantage is that Malton won't use extra effort tomorrow, but will save it for the day after. Anyway, I guess Genomico will be smart enough to put some great helpers and keep time gaps on escapes very small, or even no gaps at all

Would be a nice bonus.. So, thanks in advance for your effort!

No, Malton won't win tomorrow. Roquiny will go in full I guess and win the fifth stage for De Koereurs (and the mountain jersey), because Malton saves for the day after and win that with two fingers in his nose.

I'm not so sure about a victory for me. Genomico also has some cyclists left that can try to win a mountainstage. Roquiny hasn't that high mountainskill, so I'm not that sure about a victory We will see tomorrow. I think a lot of managers know it's one of the last possibilities to win a stage with Malton huge favorite for the last mountainstage and a lot of managers without real TT-cyclist probably.

I don't think that many managers have cyclists left who can win the stage. Roquiny and Bregge have 98% fitness, so attacking with a cyclist who has 80% isn't very usefull. I think there is only those two, perhaps one from TV or Tours Club and guys from EGV and mine. But I have no clue of EGV's tactics for today and no clue yet of mine...

As long as Malton doesn't win both mountain stages, Wuidard has a small chance to keep his green jersey. Would be a nice bonus.. You shouldn't have said that. Because of that I remembered to let Rimaux go on a 100% (his last 35%) because there was no attackpoint before the first sprint, and now he conquered the green. I am sorry, it is not an action pointed against you, but I do am glad I did it. Well, I gambled a little today, at least I tried. As predicted, Roquiny won and I congratulate Quatannens with his 5th victory and the montain jersey (now it is enough, don't win the last TT with Vadim please). And congratualtions to Genomico with the overall victory of Malton.

Vadim isn't the man for the last TT, that's the other unknown guy called Van Ingelgem. He isn't as good as Vadim (who has less fitness), but he will certainly give it a shot I never even hoped for 5 stage victories The mountainjersey is a nice bonus, which I have to thank the the first stage victory with Roquiny. I wish everybody good luck tomorrow, wonder what Malton can do I won't keep him from winning.

Quite some action and shifts in general classification today, by the way. Hopefully, Guiggi can manage to recover a little bit tomorrow. I am expecting nothing less than a GC podium finish of him, but possibly that is too ambitious.. Last but not least: congratulations De Koereurs with Roquiny today! Magnificent racing!

wonder what Malton can do I won't keep him from winning. Well, he could a lot. Difference "only" 3 minutes. Happy about today. With a little luck I win the green jersey, and race Cozijnsen on the pofium of the Vuelta. If that happens I think I reached my goal of staying in the division!
