Lol, now with the last stage it seems only that stage did matter All races, just for nothing. The general will be made in the last TT

Actually Bertol and Tamagno were always in front of Roland in the general standings. Were not able to win anything due to low sprint skill, but performed better in the TT due probably to higher TT Skill...
Only Pomar was in front of them but i guess he is not a very good climber I don't understand the comment.

Roland 125 98 +3:07 [Points jersey] ALESANA That's why my comment is In a TT with a lot of mountain, the time differences suddenly are very big, but in super heavy stages the cyclists for the general almost always end in the same group. In the old engine, there were differences between general riders in a lot of stages. Now it's almost every race the same. They all finish in the same group. You have to attack to make time differences, but to attack you need to spend fitness. Spending fitness is not good for general riders, so not many people will do it. Certainly not if the chance of actually winning time isn't that big. Why can't we attack with 70% effort? That would change some things I guess. Now it's just the most boring race ever, every day again It's just following the whole Giro, without attacking and every mountainstage results in a sprint. The final day in the mountain ITT cyclists finally use some fitness to win the Giro. The best example is Rolland, he lost 2:44 in the last ITT and he was only 23 seconds behind, after all those mountainstages. He almost won every mountainstage, but he looses so many time in the ITT? (I don't know if he started the ITT with the same amount of fitness.) If you can win almost every mountainstage you should be able to finish close in a mountain ITT as well. I just don't like the new RE at all. For me they changed something that didn't had to change, certainly not this way. They made things more complicated, but the variety of winners is even smaller. The new system for mountain/sprint jersey has also failed for me. It seems that cyclists picking up mountain/sprint points don't do any more effort than other cyclists. Sprinting for every mountainpoint, every sprintpoint and than even winning the stage, not very realistic for me. But Rolland did it. Why is the option gone for going for mountain points and intermediate sprints? Those cyclists should do an extra effort those points, but should be more tired than other cyclists who didn't sprint and have a way smaller chance for winning the stage.

It worked differently in my (lower division) league. The winners were those who combined multiple low fitness attacks (75%) with saving fitness on the flatter stages. They got time gaps on climbing stages but were able to recover while remaining in the main group. I think your situation may only have been the case because nobody took risks. I did the old "ride at 70%, then kill the last stage" with my main guy and got 4th (6 minutes down). We had attacks on nearly every mountain stage. Some (mainly from me) with guys going at 100% for stage wins. Others at lesser efforts to gain time. We had a total of maybe 3 stages come down to sprints, only one of them a climbing stage.

Perhaps I could have attacked with Roland to gain some time. He would have got away, but I'm almost sure he wouldn't stay away due to his pover TT skill. I was surprised to see Brouillet being third in the general as well as in the ITT. He is better skilled in mountain and TT. I must agree with Quattannes the old RE was a bit more fun. But I liked the result of the Giro. ;D

3 in a row. Perhaps 4 The flat races will be much less succesfull for my team. Donckerwolcke, Adrici...and something more, Cinca and Pasquarello are making it hard to win the sprints but Roland remains succesfull. I'm wondering where it will end. Arcidiacono!!!! Roland has been a pain in the ... I wouldn't be surprised to find his name in the usada report against Armstrong : media2.gazzetta.it/gazzetta/pdf/2012/usada-armstrong.pdfIt's now other cyclists who are a pain in the a.. ;D

Roland still best cyclist in our Div. But it will be just a matter of time. Pasquariello is collecting points quickly. I guess he'll be first after the race Limont > Pellier on wednesday. And so is 'De Koereurs' speeding up to 3rd place. He could achieve that today or at least tomorrow. Good luck to you both. I'm already happy with a top 5 ranking.

What's up Quattanens? I thought you would have won more points to take over the third place in the division ranking. Or are you doing it slowly but surely?

I just hope that the problems with Tour de pologne results, won't affect final standings.... It would be very disappointing in case!

It would surely be disappointing. So I finally got on place 4 in our Div. Congratz to Quattanens. Our chemical manager did good as well. All jerseys (except the youngster jersey ;D) Congratz to you too. But I think it was more because of the error in the TdP and in the TdF. Hopefully this is a one (two) shot error in the game. Now it's just up to Pasquarello to be the best cyclist of the Div.

Again I hope that the TDF standings will not be affected too much by the bug (Salvetti and Damians should have -56 seconds compared to all others) And I am not underestimanting you... I know Roland can't wait for the Vuelta to begin

But Damians is out of bussiness now. He's tired and no more fit enough to mean something. He'll slide further away in the overall ranking. His flat is good, his mountain is marvellous, but his sprint is pover. As I've seen in earlier races that sprint skills are more important than flat or mountain.

Second yellow jersey that should have been on my shoulders but it isn't.... less money, less point, less supporters....not bad!

Back to 4th place for me :-) I hope to end at least 4th this season. Also the 100th victory is coming closer! I won't become 3th, two of my best cyclists got a perfect injury moment. Borrego and van den Brandt
