Cool to have you here to hilight when our division performs well in a stage. My Vuelta team is pretty much going to stage hunt I think. I really haven't figured out how to manage the effort in grand tours and I don't really think I have a rider on my team built to contend in any of the jersey competitons. Yamaki is close, but a time trialer he is NOT (as in he has the worst TT on my team). Due to acting too quickly once I started my team, I made some decisions with my trainer and signing new riders that probably weren't ideal. For the next season or so I think that will mean my focus will be on the shorter tours and 1-day races and I'll be a total non-factor in the grand tours. Trust me, many of my riders were not ideal either :-) But it's also a matter of not wasting training spots and get the pipeline filled with 25 cyclists asap. You can improve your team along the way, but at least the crappy cyclists you bought are getting training and will be selling for more money than you bought them. Always better than not using all your training spots!

Well, I read enough before signing a triainer to know that a 10 in a single skill was important.
I didn't read enough to know what skills were the best to train though... so I've got a hill trainer.
I've decided to stick with him to get a strong base in hills for my team before hiring a flat or mountain guy, but I realize for most races in the short term I'll probably be at a disadvantage. I don't see any GT success this season or next to be perfectly honest, but maybe those hill improvements might start helping with individual stages and 1-day races geared in a particular direction.
It will probably get worse before it gets better as other teams will be loaded with lvl 5 flat and lvl 5 mountain guys and my 5's are in hills.

Well it isn't all bad that you choose to train hill, there are fewer hill trainer so you have a bigger chance of being succesfull in the races where the hill skill does matter the most. BTW : The Hill skill is used pretty much from Eneco on (so starting tomorrow) As a Hill trainer you probably should focus on Eneco-Vuelta-Pologne and Catalunya, Combined with a good flat skill Paris-Tours is very well suited to.

Well, that will be good for next season. I just started after the Giro though so I've only gotten a few weeks of training in. Nobody has the right combo to really succeed in the Vuelta. Next season, hopefully some of my guys who are solid in the mountains/Flat/TT will have very good hills to go with it... perhaps it will work then.

Thank you, I had a tough opponent in you, it took quite a while to get an edge on you. The best of luck next season and let us hope that we won't meet again 'till the highest level

Anyone know how to look at the Lombardia results? All I can see is the blank season 2 schedule.
