If today isn't the to ask it , i don't know anymore Please make national teams, with national races. This way the game will be more fun for everybody, people in lower divisions could have international riders (u21) and have more fun in the game. You could spread the world championship races in weeks that only have one race. - world championship - world championship (u21) - TT - TT (U21) People could elect the national managers and he or she could pick the riders... Wouldn't it be great to have an international 20 year old polish rider in your team if you are 6th in 4rth division... You could have the races without the form rule (everybody is 100 percent and doesn't lose form-points) So it would be a game in the game Think about it

There's been a long and useful discussion on the Belgium forum about national and world championships.
There is a general idea of how this needs to be done, but the challenging aspect is figuring out how the cyclists will be selected that will participate in these races. So far, we've not yet found a good solution for this.

is it not possible to make an election for the national selector? he will not able to see all the cyclist, but only those which are selected by each user! not the tv of course! it doesn't seem to me a difficult thing to do or not?

But each player can have cyclists of all nationalities, so how would a player know if his cyclists are good enough to make a chance?
And there's not going to be a national coach, because there will be only 2 or 3 championships. It's not really worth it.

I think a national coach has to be elected since there is no other way to select cyclist. points or vicotry are not a good way to select.
national coach would not have such a big importance since the races will be few...but still has to exist.
manager could have a list in which they can put the cyclist they think are good for national team....no filter on nation.
national trainer could see only those cyclist, but of course they can call for races also other cyclist even if they don't see the skill (maybe they think they are better.
of cousre there will be a plus for those who are in national team, like an increase in experience.

I suggested a poll as the previous "Do you like the new website?" to decide: ----> Would you like World championship races? <-------- And if the project forward, I proposed that begin at end of this season 22/12/2008.

in CFF(www.cyclingforfun.org, dead in 1 week ) there was 8 international races each season, and each country chose his coach voting. each coach can watch all riders of his country, and can find them with a page like transfers, looking with a minimun of plain, mountain... at the end od season there are best national team and best rider(rainbow jersey) 9 riders in each team, with a leader, helpers and free rider(in this game there aren't free riders ) and same with U23 national team in international races doesn't count form

What we had initially in mind, was to have qualifying races in all divisions first. So that all teams had a chance to make it to the final national/international championship.
However, the problem that arrised then was the selection of the cyclists, which should be beyond the national boundaries, because teams can have foreign cyclists.
So we got stuck in that idea.
The idea to have a national coach could work, but we feel that it is not worth the effort to implement national coaches, just for 2 races at the start of the season. And how would the coach find the right cyclists? He is able to see all the skills of all cyclists of his country? What if he abuses that power (which is inevitable, imho)?
No, the ideal system would involve no national coach and would allow all players to participate in a way in the races, even if it is only in a qualifying race.

in CFF any national coach abuses with his power, and if he do that, he will never be coach again... And how would the coach find the right cyclists? like you can find cyclists in the transfers page I was national coach of U23 1 season ;D but I lose against Netherlands in last race

I agree with IP that a national coach would not really be necessary for only 2 races per season.
If foreign cyclists are the main problem in implementing NC/WC, then just ignore this for the moment: assume that all cyclists (including foreign ones) that are competing for a team of a certain country are allowed to compete in NC/C for that country.
At a later stage, when this game is more developed and IP and his helpers have more time, they might reinvestigate the problem again and maybe come with a solution to let these foreign cyclists compete for their country of origin.
