The fact that it wasn't mentioned in the report, is because it was always an attack of the whole group (in this case: Cavaco and Mihnea). In search for the answer why he "didn't gain time", I ranked the cyclists, based on their time over 1 part. Part from AP 7:Name | TimeBefore | TimeAfter | TimeDiff |
---|
Saloio | 02:38:35 | 03:03:11 | 00:24:36 | Bruegger | 02:38:52 | 03:03:41 | 00:24:49 | Sloodts | 02:38:35 | 03:03:25 | 00:24:50 | Mihnea | 02:39:15 | 03:04:07 | 00:24:52 | Cavaco | 02:39:15 | 03:04:10 | 00:24:55 | Vanden Houte | 02:42:15 | 03:07:34 | 00:25:19 | De Waen | 02:41:35 | 03:07:00 | 00:25:25 | Ivaldi | 02:39:34 | 03:05:09 | 00:25:35 | Narente | 02:42:15 | 03:08:49 | 00:26:34 |
Part from AP 9:Name | TimeBefore | TimeAfter | TimeDiff |
---|
Saloio | 03:51:06 | 04:16:41 | 00:25:35 | Mihnea | 03:52:22 | 04:18:07 | 00:25:45 | Cavaco | 03:52:22 | 04:18:14 | 00:25:52 | Bruegger | 03:51:59 | 04:17:51 | 00:25:52 | Sloodts | 03:51:06 | 04:17:06 | 00:26:00 | Vanden Houte | 03:56:48 | 04:23:03 | 00:26:15 | De Waen | 03:56:11 | 04:22:41 | 00:26:30 | Ivaldi | 03:54:08 | 04:20:50 | 00:26:42 | Narente | 03:58:36 | 04:26:08 | 00:27:32 | |
Part from AP 10: (Cavaco fell in this part)Name | TimeBefore | TimeAfter | TimeDiff |
---|
Saloio | 04:54:32 | 05:44:53 | 00:50:21 | Sloodts | 04:54:57 | 05:45:22 | 00:50:25 | Mihnea | 04:56:14 | 05:46:42 | 00:50:28 | Bruegger | 04:55:47 | 05:46:42 | 00:50:55 | Vanden Houte | 05:02:11 | 05:53:26 | 00:51:15 | Cavaco | 04:56:14 | 05:47:55 | 00:51:41 | Ivaldi | 04:58:56 | 05:50:56 | 00:52:00 | De Waen | 05:01:00 | 05:53:05 | 00:52:05 | Narente | 05:03:20 | 05:56:21 | 00:53:01 | |
Part without AP or sprint: (part 16)Name | TimeBefore | TimeAfter | TimeDiff |
---|
Saloio | 03:03:11 | 03:23:50 | 00:20:39 | Mihnea | 03:04:07 | 03:24:46 | 00:20:39 | Cavaco | 03:04:10 | 03:24:51 | 00:20:41 | Vanden Houte | 03:07:34 | 03:28:26 | 00:20:52 | Bruegger | 03:03:41 | 03:24:33 | 00:20:52 | Sloodts | 03:03:25 | 03:24:19 | 00:20:54 | Ivaldi | 03:05:09 | 03:26:29 | 00:21:20 | De Waen | 03:07:00 | 03:28:29 | 00:21:29 | Narente | 03:08:49 | 03:31:42 | 00:22:53 |
Summarized, I would say: Cavaco is still one of the strongest climbers (in the "normal" part about the same time as Saloio and Mihnea). But in parts where there is an attack and a sprint, the sprint skill gets more important. Sloodts and Saloio (delighted), Bruegger (very happy) have a mood-advantage.

Excel would be handy indeed. But we can already start puzzling a bit, monotoring new opponents,... Thanx for the quick season update! Things that catch my eye after a quick scan: - 4 timetrials (2 ITT and 2 TTT) in the first 13 races. - first sprint stage at week 6(unless i missed one off course)? But that's a very accidented one. So the first typical flat sprint race is only in week 8? . That's a lot of time a flat sprinter is useless... - the 4 World Championships are exactly the same as last season, makes the same cyclists earn the big money again. When I made the calendar was not yet available the profile of the new stages of the world championship You mean in real life? That's logical. The next world championship is in about 10 months. But this peloton season finishes in about 4 months, so really no need to try to put them in this season. It's amazing you try to create all new stages, linked to real life cycling. Tons of respect for that! But it's certainly not forbidden to use existing stages too (but rather not from the season that's just finished).

Than I will have at least 12 victories...+3 Jerseys... When I take a look at the analysis made by bosko, it is clear to me that your main problem are the grand tours. You lose a lot of potential points there... If it is possible, you should make a focus on (buying?) a podium guy... Not necessarily. JOOP Cycling Team also had only 1 GC podium spot, and he could have finished 2nd easily. I think the problem rather is that ALESANA only has 2 cyclists above 30y. But that's a problem that solves itself in a few seasons. Becucci and Grilo are excellent, but they can only go full every 2 weeks (so an average of 1 possible good result every week). Cyclists above 30y old per team: 1. Arsenal '98: 11 2. GIK team: 6 3. SpartaB: 5 4. JOOP Cycling Team: 5 5. WC VroOom: 6 6. Headcase Pro Cycling: 8 7. Tossboom: 0 (made that good with excellent U21) 8. Quiller Boys: 5 9. ALESANA: 2 10. DeRodeLantaarn: 10 (but the quality isn't high enough) 11. Low Budget Cycling: 0 12. En Danseuse: 1

Congrats to Arsenal '98 and GIK team for the promotion. Congrats for Tossboom and Quiller Boys for the not-relegation. Good luck to the teams that go to div 3. May you all come back stronger!
Thanx to everyone for this interesting season, active forum and exciting battles!

Giro dell Emilia, again a race for the feitherweighted mountainlovers. Favourites seem to be Caetano (Quiller Boys), tandem Melodia/Marques (JOOP Cycling Team), Abreu (Headcase Pro Cycling) and Marra (DeRodeLantaarn).

World Championship Today. Favourites: Kuzemchak (JOOP Cycling Team), Renuart (Quiller Boys) Steenmans (Arsenal '98) and Quintal (Sparta B) in battle for bronze? Also Grilo (ALESANA) and Veller (WC VroOom) at the start, but the steep mountains aren't ideal for them.

It was going better then expected ... I tried a group escape with 4 cyclists to test if they would be able to stay away. Clearly didn't work as hoped.
