After 25% of the races, things are still quite close in division 1. In division 2A, it looks like De Droeftoeters is heading towards the title quite easily. This week, he scored 456 points out of the 590 that a team can maximally score, so 77%. Impressive! In division 2B, SpartaB and team dustin take a nice gap to the other teams, which are mostly close to each other.
Next week: an U23 sprint race on flat/hill terrain, and an U28 mixed, but mainly downhill, race.

Not for me. I don't understand the races at all. I deliberately attacked rather at the end of the race, so my cyclists wouldn't get tired. But these were the results: 1) U24 Vasto L'Aquila: Last part: 8km MO Beginning of the last part: Panucci 1m20 in front of the peloton Finish: Panucci in the peloton, 1m35 behind the top 2 That means Rubbers and Jonard win 2m55 on 1 single part??? For information: Panucci has MO 6 and SP 7 Rubbers and Jonard already have sprint 12? 2) U27 Strade Bianchi: Last part: 9km HI Beginning of the la st part: Kwakman 1m30 in front of peloton; Boonstra 43s in front of pelotonFinish: Kwakman 3rd in same time as De Clerq and Wyffels; Boonstra 53s behind them. Tha means De Clerq and Wyffels win 1m30 on Kwakman 1m36 on Boonstra. For information: Kwakman has HI 7 and SP 9; Boonstra has HI 8 and SP 6. What skills must De Clerq and Wyffels than have? It's not that I'm a bad loser. It's just frustrating that I'm not able to understand it at all. What if one day, this engine will be used in the real game...

strange, I have never read a race report from a funrace and the new engine, so I can not tell enough about that
1) 2 attackers only attacking at the last point and 3 helpers not special skills, good enough but not more then good I take a look, and I see the problem, Panucci was to early alone at the front, he was tired till the end
2) 2 attackers only attacking at the last point and 3 good helpers also not special skills, good skills but not extreme good problem I think, attack to early, by early attack the skills must be better, certainly if others have good helpers
(I send a message with the skills of these ones, do not publish that, I have told enough about the skills)

(I send a message with the skills of these ones, do not publish that, I have told enough about the skills) 1) Panucci attacked at AP 6. That's after 100 km of the 180 km. I know one shouldn't attack at the first AP. But i thought AP 6 was a good moment to take enough lead and not be tired before the finish. And still, losing 3 minutes in 8km seems rather ridiculous. 2) They both attacked at AP 9. That's after 150 km of the 184 km. Only 34km left can't be called "to early". So I guess it really is because you had a "train" of 3 helpers, which gave your sprinters an enormous bonus.

bosko U24 - in 8km is easy to lose that time if there are much better riders, I had 3 riders mountain+sprint=17 or mountain+tt=17 so the gap come down quickly, Quintela and Pycke should have also high mountain skill. When they enter last 8km mountain they only have an advantage of 18 secounds. Only very strong riders can win alone or if the peloton don't chase. In this engine is needed less helpers to make the peloton chase, I don't know the exact number because is Schizm that made but I think that are 5 or 6 helpers, in the current engine are 10 helpers needed to chase. About U27 my rider that finish 2nd has at least more 3 skills in hill then yours. Ruth we already know that is very strong in this terrain too, but because he attacke early my rider came near him in the end, if you see before last part Ruth was in front and my rider was 2,28 min behind and almoust get there, 9km at 6% and less tired make that.

About U24: 1) It doesn't have much use comparing to your cyclists as they rode in another race. 2) Panucci was not weaker than the 2 winners, so certainly not than the helpers. 3) Because of the maximum effort of 410 for a team, I assume most of the helpers ride at 70%, while the attacker goes at 100%. So only 5 or 6 weaker guys at only 70% are enough to get back a stronger opponent at 100%? Even if he didn't attack that much km ago? About U27: I took a look at your guys race. 1) You speak about "early" and "tired". That shouldn't be for Ruth as his first attack is at 80% of the racedistance... Only 36km to go... 2) At the finish, Ruth still was 2:30 in front of the peloton. So it wasn't the peloton that came closer because of chasing, it was only Xavier who won 2 minutes on everybody else. Because of his train of 3 helpers?

A great debut of SeMTeX in division 2A, winning both races and immediately taking the second place in the ranking.
Next week: a mixed U25 ITT (and it is only from now actually an ITT in all divisions, I somehow forget to set that correctly quite often), and an U29 race over a rather allround terrain, but ending with some mountains.

I thought by rule of thumb one could just bet on the last two attack points. But I think I start to understand the new race engine a little now (after 2 seasons?). Terrain-toughness seems an important factor in fatigue. Last two attack points in Costa Rica was too little to late - this was a race for 3 or 4 attacks? While last week on the mountain climb it was better to hold the horses to last two attacks.

We're halfway the season. Some gaps start to form at the top of division 1, but as is the case this week as well, one week can change a lot. Also the battle for place 8 is very interesting, with 5 teams close to each other. In division 2A, Droeftoeters is reinforcing his lead. SeMTeX is doing great with a second place, but only participating since 2 weeks. Still, Carapaz is close and might easily grab that promotion spot. In division 2B, 2 teams are sharing the first place. They have quite a large margin to En Danseuse, but as I already said, one week might change a lot. The other teams seem to be too far behind to find for the promotion spots, however.
Next week: an U22 downhill race and an U26 (mixed) mountain race.

A great week for Melres in division 1, winning both races and getting a lot closer to the first spot. Bolt Thrower and DeRodeLantaarn switch positions in the fight for the last safe spot. A lack of competitors in division 2A made it very easy to score points. SeMTeX profited most and enlarged the gap to Carapaz in a direct fight. In division 2B En Danseuse is the winner of the week, followed by the top 2 who steadily keep scoring points.
Next week: an U23 hill race and a U27 sprint race ending downhill. Don't forget to set your tactics!
