Vinchent doing good business for GC. Allready 7 minutes on Grande and 10 minutes on other contestants? Or maybe Simon steps in?

Yes, some big names were riding on safe fitness on Sunday - but it was not a short sprint race. It were 30! 5km parts - 30 chances to be dropped/delayed! With 2 tough weeks to go, in which it can be lethal to consume fitness too early, I guess some managers are getting nervous :-) Petry basically in the same position as Prates.
Vinchent for GC? Why not; he is not really on my list as top climber, but being pretty good all-round with excellent TT skills, might be just what it takes this tour.

Leao is in the TDF for his time trail skills, so he couldn't ride on 100% on sunday. Hoped for a better result for Grande. Anyway, results of last week: Nr | Team | Wins | GC | PJ | MJ | Points | Pt Wk | Wk Rank | Rank diff | 1 | pollyjean | 10 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 2772 | 234 | 5 | = | 2 | Naspa Achne 26 | 16 | 1 | 3 | 1 | 2708 | 570 | 1 | = | 3 | Carapaz | 6 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2239 | 250 | 3 | = | 4 | joachim1107 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1767 | 263 | 2 | +1 | 5 | team dustin | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1612 | 46 | 10 | -1 | 6 | The Mothers of Invention | 3 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1584 | 247 | 4 | +1 | 7 | Levi's Team | 7 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 1417 | 68 | 6 | -1 | 8 | Cyclist Devils | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1062 | 39 | 11 | = | 9 | TGV | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 620 | 67 | 7 | = | 10 | Panteras Negras | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 495 | 67 | 7 | = | 11 | Tours.Cycle.Club | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 391 | 61 | 9 | = | 12 | Van der Graaf Generator | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 227 | 0 | 12 | = |

Yes, Goselink did it! Was not really a good race for him, but Dereume (POL) did not go all in and Flebus (DUS) needs a bit more training. Vinchent looking very good for GC, but after tomorrow we know more. The real climbing will start and make more clear. Let us see what Prates (TGV), Grande (JOA) and Petry (LEV) can do! :-)

yesterday, I had hoped Flebus surprised me, but Goselink was going also full speed and Dereume don't need all energy to let Flebus behind.

Lot of aces were played today. Petry (LEV) is not looking (anymore) for GC, but took the stage - he can get safely injured now :-) Maybe he will try something next week as well to see if he can keep the polka dot? Dell'Agnolo (POL) second and Lebon (DEV) third. They did their jobs. Prates (TGV) by far the best climber of the GC men, 4th on almost 3 minutes. And Maury (DUS), Grande (JOA) and Vinchent lose, 9, 10 and almost 12!!! minutes on Prates Vinchent (CAR) still leads GC. Two more intermediate stages and an TTT will not harm him. He might even take back some minutes. But Prates will look with great self confidence to the mountain stages next week! In this form he is able to take over 20 minutes on his contenders.

Today a gift to Auge (DEV), few attackers, not much effort was given today. Auge was the best in the downhill sprint. Congratz phootyx.

Auge didn't expect to win this one. In the early previsions for the tour, it was supposed to be a stage for him to close the gap in the general standing... GC is not an objective anymore for Auge, but with this victory and the intermediate sprints, point jacket can become one.
By the way, unexpectedly too, Lebon can perhaps stay in the first places. He was supposed to play the mountain jacket in which he didn't succeeded. But he's now not so badly positionned in the GS...

yes, quite strange TdF in 2:2. Very few real contestants for GC and some stages almost no one seems interested. Levi's is unpredictable, Naspa didn't bring mountain riders... It is up for the ones who dare. Must say my squad in Giro was somewhat stronger too.

Yes, well, the battle Prates vs Vinchent is quite interesting. And for place 3 there are 4 candidates. Battle for Green can be interesting as well. Polkadot should go to Prates, I think we all agree that we can give it to him.
Tomorrow Döring will get a chance. So if someone else wanted the stage, the win will not come easy. No presents given. The TTT after that is for Carapaz. And then we go to GP Ouest France, Soria vs Vanbesien?
