Yes I should look on the positive side. Beaupr still has his chances. But with a weaker leader and no TTT it already was a tough effort to beat Sarmento in his final season as a youngster. Now it will become more tough. Plus I can train Vindevogel this week.

This might be a very interesting Vuelta… Stage two was very interesting to watch. I was really surprised Rios did not follow Renuart… I hoped Renuart would take a little advantage in the first flat part of today, but that Rios did not make up in the mountains really surprised me...

Indeed. Rios, Renuart, De Waen, Bourdages and Govoni, the difference between them on the mountain parts doesn't seem that much. Today an important stage with lots of MO km (almost half of the stage). Renuart (51kg) and Govoni (56kg) will surely love the 15% parts. Good luck to all! I think I'll let my 4 youngsters attack at the first AP and than let them fight for "best SpartaB mountain talent".

Rios is not the real mountain cyclist, same as De waen. So I assume both rios and renuart will get a fitness update, so renuart is my favorite.

Renuart wasn't that convincing either yesterday. Interesting to see the standings and fitnesses of all the GC guys after the weekendupdate. Today and tomorrow maybe some chances for younger ones who saved energy? I see Coureaux (Low Budget Cycling) and Vits (ALESANA) are still very fresh, but hard to tell wich race they have in mind... Blerinca will attack, but not at full effort at all. The 2 15% MO parts might be to heavy for him. Or is it him being to heavy for them?

Blerinca did well on the flat parts but not MO and downhill. Vits choose to attack at full 100%. My only option in this Vuelta. Others are racing to stay in the team (contracts). Renuart against Rios for the Time Jersey?
Vuelta is as good as over for ALESANA. Up to other teams now. 2 win in the Vuelta not bad for a team ranked 8th in the Div. And ready to relegate.

Congrats! Very usefull points viewing tomorrow is a Tossboom stage. In GC still a lot possible. De Waen will start week 2 with only 5% fitness less than the 2 favourites. And Kuzemchak starts very fresh, but maybe too far behind?

I do not believe Renuart will be strong enough to take the Vuelta. BUT I was hoping for another podium with him so I am still very happy if that happens (gives me maybe the opportunity to gamble in week two )

Guess the 190 points lead in GC before Tossboom will not be enough to stay in 2nd. Or I should win a 3rd stage in Vuelta. And two or three single stages...

Position 9 will be ALESANA. The youngster races and the final outcome of the Vuelta will kill me. And the tactic of not having a fitness trainer. But I will try to avoid relegation of course.

don't give up chakra; you are still 130points ahead of toss, and only 3 more U21 races if I'm right. In best case, that means 300pnts for toss, meaning you only have to score 200 in the remaining 3 weeks. Seems possible, no? I believe YJ give you money but no points

I believe YJ give you money but no points It wouldn't be the first time this season Tossboom scores more than 100 points in a race. In this weeks race for example, both Pizzocolo and van Rooden can end on the podium (just like in the world championship in 2 weeks). In a timetrial, you can theoretically even score 250 points if you end 1-5. But indeed, chakra can score some points himself too off course. Beginning tomorrow with Grilo? He has a good chance for m aking the podium. Together with Vindevogel (Headcase Pro Cycling) in battle for the second place behind Strauss (Arsenal '98). So I would also say everything is still possible. Nice battle to watch! Btw: I would say YJ does give some points in division standings but not in cyclist standings. Anyway, at this moment only pos 5 and 7 for Tossboom in the Vuelta, so that aren't the big points.
