There's an interesting bug in the race simulation: peloton-game.com/results2.aspx?id=1122&division_id=209&season=23So excuse me if I'm focussing solely on my cyclists ... but of course they are my main concern: Maris Barendregt (id=143318) is a quite good flat rider - something like 10.5. Unfortunately he had a fall quite early in the race. He was dropped from the peloton. But of course - being the excellent flat rider he is - he managed to catch the peloton again. But due to some strange bug he never was able to join the peloton group (check the race report and the groups). He stayed at the end of the peloton (and in the next group) all the time. I know my other 2 riders in the peloton (Solbreux and Wanin). If Barendregt is in the same time he must finish before them (I'd guess he even would have to finish in the top 20). Any other result is clearly a bug.

You're right this is a bug. The problem is indeed that two groups that are in the same time aren't merged to one big group. This case is an example of the regrouping bug. The regrouping bug is a know bug in the race engine and has been reported more often for example in the following thread peloton.proboards.com/post/106761/thread

Thanks for pointing out: There you've got it. I'm completely egocentric. Didn't notice this bug before (because obviosuly I wasn't concerned so far).

But it comes to my attention that this is really a special one: He was stuck in the later group for the last 10 sections of the race (in spite of being one of the fastest flat cyclists in the peloton) and he always stayed in the late group of the peloton (I was expecting at the latest in the intermediate sprint the speed is actually taken into accord).

Oh. Didn't even notice: Then in section 7 he lost some time inspite of neither flat nor fall. (Only to regain these 40 seconds again in section 8). Completely broken :-(

Yes, it's strange that the situation is persisting for many parts. Sometimes after a part the grouping is performed correctly, while in other cases time differences might be created after a part between the different groups (that is really annoying).
In some sense this happens also in part 7 where Barendregt loses time on the peloton. I guess that has to do with the fall of Samuel on that part and for some reason Barendregt and Samuel are then placed in the same group. Barendregt drops Samuel in part 8 and he's again in the same time as the peloton. One part later the situation is even more strange as there are 3 groups in the same time, i.e. group 7 (peloton), group 8 (Barendregt) and group 9 (Samuel). By the way also groups 10-12 are in the same time...

And to add to this one could ask how it could happen at all that Barendregt drops out because he had one helper (Wanin) in his group (and is having 10.5 flat skill anyway).
But nevermind. If you believe in kharma Barendregt should finish in the top 5 today (at least he will try).
