An ITT tomorrow, so I was checking the competitors a bit to see at how much effort I would go. Of course, I want to get Nieberg at the start at the best way possible, but appearantly he has been busy the last days with... changing his NAME? I'm certain that he was called Ginny, but today it is suddenly Gino
For a moment I thought I had misread it for 13(!) seasons, but in an old xml file of my team and in the TV post of ElGringo 1 month ago his first name is indeed Ginny. Appearantly riders can do a lot on their own in this game...
That's very weird. I have never seen that before. Well whether it's Ginny or Gino, he goes fast.
Another strong week by De Stoempers, it seems the division win is pretty much guaranteed now. A nice team you have build, Arno, well done.
Somehow forgot to set any tactics on Saturday, bit pissed off with myself about that, I'm pretty sure Cornelio would have made top 3. Also cost me 4% fitness for Miranda and Koster, stupid.
Yes, I was quite surprised that Cornelio didn't fought for stage 2. With stage 8 the only possibility for a flat rider. Giraudo had tough luck by a fall on a key moment with no helper and then became stuck in the peloton.
And also no Genon, so it was quite an easy victory for Pratte to my surprise. But Cornelio will get his stage win in stage 8 I guess.
The lead is indeed quite large and with Brognoli and Sloodts at the start of Vattenfall and Plouay I will score some points there. So I think I can keep up this week. Still an interesting battle for 3rd and 8th place.
De Kasseienstoempers S11 and S22: Winner of division 1!
49 points... I must be able to beat that this week
Yeah, I was really surprised that you scored only 49 points. This week you collected already more points in two stages.
Tomorrow the last stage in the Vuelta. The GC seems to be decided, but maybe Finet can collect also the point and mountain jerseys? For the youth classification Vanden Houte did a good job today taking over the lead from Smet. Tomorrow still a tricky stage left that seems to suit the allrounder Smet better than the pure climber Vanden Houte.
Finet is still at 86%, I can see him doing pretty well tomorrow. Not sure if he will manage to grab any of the jerseys though. With the season end in mind I'm pretty sure Belluzzo and Saloio will go 100% as well, so closing the full gap might be tricky.
Yeah, I was hoping for a smaller gap between Vanden Houte and Smet today, but unfortunately I lost the lead. Since Koster was attacking as well I didn't allow Smet to do the same on the mountain stretches (to avoid the duo attack bug), so he might have lost some valuable time there. I don't think he will beat Vanden Houte tomorrow, since we only have 1 attack point (downhill ) and the final terrain is mountain.
Congrats with the title Ab, by far the strongest this season. Hope to challenge you a bit more (or at least longer than just until the Giro) next season
