Season 22 was generated a few days ago, so time for a new thread.
Two teams, but only 1 manager , have their debut in 1:1 this season. The teams for this season are:
Promoted teams Groenenhoek - Number 1 in 2:1 last season with a clear gap to the number 2. With 7 time jerseys last season he seems to focus especially on GC's. Has 9 riders between 35 and 39 who will get most of his points (besides U21 races and youngster jerseys). Will they be good enough to avoid relegation?
Neo - Number 2 in 2:1 last season, with a clear gap to the number 3. Became 11th in his previous season in 1:1 (season 20), but things have changed a bit since then. The oldies don't dominate it all anymore, so can his 7 riders between 30 and 35 get him a win? Combined with the 9 riders of 36+ and a bunch of youngsters he seems to have sufficient cyclists to compete in most races. Avoiding relegation will be the main goal I think. Joachim1107 - Number 1 in 2:2 last season. Rode in 1:1 in season 18 (8th) and 19 (11th). Most of his older riders are now retired, sold or for sale, so the 12 riders between 30 and 37 should do it for him this season. Also here I think that avoiding relegation is the goal this season. Arsenal '98 - Number 2 in 2:2 last season. The first season in 1:1 for his team, but we know punkska from his former team Hüsker Dü who has had a lot of seasons in 1:1. Seems to be building on his team with lots of young riders, but has a few oldies that can score some points. I doubt that it's enough for a safe top 8 spot, so my goal for you is that you don't end up inactive like in season 18
Teams in 1:1 previous season Gonzalez - 8th last season. Not many old riders anymore, but he has the winner of last year's Tour de France (Bossuroy) and a good rider for flat and flat/hill races (Caiado). Also Gheeraert can score some points (in TT's), as well as his youngsters. In total, I think it will be hard for him to end top 8 again, but you've surprised me earlier with your 5th place in season 20. En Danseuse - Ensured the all-dutch top 7 of last season. No wins last season, but with 17 riders of 30 and older he has a broad squad to score. Curious to see whether his younger riders have made a step and can start winning now. I think that repeating or improving last year's result is possible. Tossboom - Started focusing on youngsters some seasons ago, but has some oldies left to grab points. With the retirements of Sironi and Bandolin there are 5 of them left, but they will decrease quite fast. Can he pull out a safe spot for one more season? At least he has a broad youngster squad that can help him for that goal. WC Bloedzak - A nice 5th spot last season after two 7th spots the seasons before. 10 riders of 30+, but with 8 of them between 33 and 37 he has a nice core of strong riders. In addition a lot of younger riders in his team for the future, so also one to watch for youngster jerseys. No 21 year old riders, so U21 races will be done by 20 year olds. My estimation is that top 5 is possible again. De Kasseienstoempers - 4th last season in his first season 1:1 after his squad rebuild. His riders became stronger during the season (and the oldies decreased), and he improved his win counter quite a lot in the last weeks. Many competitive riders in his team. Can he get the win this season?
De Droeftoeters - 3rd last seasons, which ended his streak of 8 division wins in a row. No Lio and Guth anymore, but some younger riders have proven to be able to take over. With Arsenault he had the youngest non-youngster stage winner of previous season, so he should fill the gap that Guth leaves. Can definitely fight for the podium, but winning the division will be difficult I guess. BeterLaatDanNooit - Ended up 2nd last season after a tough battle for the title. Has a lot of very strong "young" riders and some oldies who will generate most of the points for him. Will he take revench for last season and take the win?
Op kop de sloot in - Had the largest highlight in my team history with the title last season. All these riders are still there, but the oldest ones will not generate a lot of points anymore (and will most probably be sold). My goal is to end up on the podium, although I hope to fight for the title again.
Good luck everyone!

Nice overview! Not really sure what to expect this season. Last season was better than expected. I don't think I can touch that result again as an important part of my points was due to my oldies. Although my younger cyclists are quite okay, I have the feeling that my team lacks quantity. I think top 5 is realistic, but I hope I can go for another podium place this season.
My prediction for this season is that De Kasseienstoempers will win. His results clearly improved during the season and he has both quality and quantity. Further, I expect Op kop de sloot on the second podium spot as he has good cyclists in the catagory 31-37.
Good luck all!

My only aim is to avoid relegation. I never had a cyclist retired, but I indeed sell my riders from the age of 38. My best leader Lusson (40 years old) is also fo sale so my tactical options also will be less.

bamVery nice overview! I find it hard to make a prediction. If I am honest, I think from the promoted teams, Groenenhoek will be the strongest. How his team will compare against the 1:1 teams from last season will be interesting. I agree with your analysis of the teams. Heppie, Zuidberg, Eboese, you and me, we all have some great riders who will win races. Caiado is probably the best flat/hiller in the division but part from him, this is for me the biggest opportunity to make the difference. U21 is definitely my weak point. Heppie and you will gain a lot of points on me there. I think, and hope it will be a tight battle again between 3 or 4 teams. My riders aren't the strongest in the division, but I do have a lot of competitive riders. I wish everybody good luck and a lot of fun!

Good luck everybody. For me it will be fighting against relegation I think, with my oldies getting really old and my youngsters not nearly good enough.

Good luck all!
Will be very happy with a 5th spot again at the end of the season. Might be hard, however, since my older riders are already losing skill now and than.. Hopefully, other teams will face that as well.

Happy to be in division 1! I hope I can stay longer than 1 season, but it will be difficult. I mainly hope to score points in tours, but the retirements were not a good start for me. I lost my 2 big leaders, so my tactical options will be limited for the first races. Good luck all, but especially for Arsenal! We started together in division 5 and are now meeting again.

Finally tomorrow we will start with the new season. Anxious to see what it will bring and curious after the new teams. Groenenhoek and Neo immediately with some of their stronger riders in the line up. So we immediately know how they are compared to the existing 1:1 teams. Altough BLN and OKSI don't have their top riders scheduled. I only have Belluzzo at the start. For tomorrow a promising 30 yo (wanted to say young, but for Peloton it's young ). Bloedzak has some very good riders participating. Droeftoeters Line up unknown so far. And what will the 39 yo dolike Guerolt do? After a Peloton free week, we are now beginning! Good luck everyone.

All the best, gents! Very curious how Ab's team will develop this season. Highest finish possible for me will be 4th I reckon. Not much riders left now of my golden generation, Guth and Lio both retired. Malton and Imperial are still there, but are becoming weaker and weaker.
Looking forward to start again!

5 races so far this season, and also 5 teams with a win. And with Belluzzo as top favourite today, I expect it to be 6 teams after 6 races as well. Looks like it is going to be an exciting season!

A good start for last season's champion bam, the only one who won 2 races this week, while Bloedzak took the first GC of the season.

5 races so far this season, and also 5 teams with a win. And with Belluzzo as top favourite today, I expect it to be 6 teams after 6 races as well. Looks like it is going to be an exciting season! No, not the favourite, a favourite. There was too much DH in this race for him to be the favourite, and also clearly the mountain at the end was more to Ercolini. Belluzzo proved to be the best hiller in that race, but to be honest, I was surprised that any can rider who rides at 100% can lose more than 1,5 minute in 1 DH part. Belluzo has an average mountain skill, so when Ercolini and Belluzo started the mountain part together, I knew Ercolini would win.

But for this week I will be very dissapointed if I don't get 1 win. I expect 1. And I hope for a second and 1 jersey although I still am going to try to both go for stages and GC in spite of the duo attack bug. 3rd race of Down Under will be exciting. Chaument, Clerckx, Ximenes/Genon, Zeegers, DeGryse, all depend a little on who goes for it, and who will be spared for other races.
