Doucet is my man here, but he's not fully developped yet, he's getting there (29y old) He's doing ok I guess. (up till now) 13. Doucet 0 0 +6:49 SeMTeX Very curious where he'll end up in this Div. Congratz for today's winner Strauß from Melres.

Grilo lost a minute compared to the pack because of a fall in the very last part. But I must admit I was hoping he would take some time today like Van Gend (tomorrow doesn't suite him), so the Youth Jersey apparently wasn't a realistic goal. Still hoping for my other 2 goals, although Sikkes will lose some time tomorrow... ElGringo: Congrats, already 1 achievement accomplished. But who was your GC guy? Tomorrow some mountains, so I'm expecting Dodos (WCVroOom) to win. Guiggi (Bolt Thrower), Pettini (Crusaders) and Coquet (Cycling Joop Zoetemelk) could also try something. Someone else with plans? I didn't set a GC rider, just expecting that Stauss or Rosa can finish high even with attacking at 100% in one stage.

Interesting turn of events today. Nanetti loses touch with Doucet on the first downhill part. Had he only held on there, he would have been 5th in GC now. A lot of riders in GC now around 5 minutes behind Chitul and all are 60% fit. Riparbelli lost 2 minutes yesterday due to a fall. Had he only stayed on his bike then he would have worn the Youngster jersey right now...
Let's end the Wat if's here. Congratulations to Strauss and Guiggi for your wins! See you DOwn Under.

headcase: That's some strange assumptions. Interesting turn of events today. Nanetti loses touch with Doucet on the first downhill part. Had he only held on there, he would have been 5th in GC now. Doucet makes already a difference (half a minute) at the 12km moutain attack because he's stronger there. Than he makes the difference even bigger by attacking at the downhill part where Nanetti doesn't. So there is a real reason why there is a difference between them (strength + tactics). Riparbelli lost 2 minutes yesterday due to a fall. Had he only stayed on his bike then he would have worn the Youngster jersey right now... Riparbelli already lost more than a minute at part 13 (downhill). At the part of his fall (part 15), he loses only half a minute compared to the bunch, but that will rather be because off his weak downhill. Above that, other youngsters also have flat and falls...

Congratz Bolt and to the old Guiggi that still know how to win.
Really happy with Rosa(26Y) today, he won the 1st sprint and I never expect that, this way Straub can have a real possibility of winning the green jersey.

agh, dodos ruined it today with his fall. I almost closed the gap in the final downhill section, but it was a few km's too short. Bummer. Anyway I'm happy to see that the gap with Guiggi is gone (due to decreasing skill, I know:-)) Nice to see Van Gend doing so well, bit unexpected.
First points are in the pocket, hope we can grab this win soon. I think sikkes will be close to winning the GC, if Bosko plays him of course

I hope Sikkes can, he will definitely try (and the lack of flat parts are in his favour). We'll see on Sunday. I assume besides Cormier, Niculai (WCVroOom) and Pequeno (Streetfighters) will try to win the race. Doucet (Semtex) in good position for podium in GC, excellent result for a 29y old!
Today, Tour Down Under starts. I'm not having high hopes there. I'm letting some next generation guys start to see where they stand at the moment (27, 29, 30 and 31y old). But no pressure on them. Semtex will surely get rid of those 0 points with Fulwood and Carnea and also a very happy youngster. Crusaders starts with an experienced team (36, 36 and 34y old) so should be able to score some points too. First race is a sprint race. Maybe something for Schiettecatte (The Mothers of Invention)? How close can Micheels (Bolt Thrower, 25y) end?

Yeah, thanks, I was quite lucky yesterday. When I checked the results of the 1st stage and realized that Dodos went on Save Fitness I was very much in doubt if it would be enough for the 2nd stage. In the end it indeed was Dodos' unlucky fall that secured the stage for Guiggi. Obviously Guiggi isn't good in downhill.
That's more than I hoped for. I mainly tried to win the mountain jersey - which succeeded quite impressively ... and I was thinking in the end it should be any place on the podium for him. That it was enough for the stage win is the cream topping as we say in German ;-)
Unfortunately now I've nothing left for Sunday's final stage - but anyway: A promising start of the week for team Bolt Thrower. Last season I started considerably worse.
Impressive how Sikkes and Doucet can perform so well with only minimum effort. But Chitul is only with 7% less than Sikkes . so this will be a tight final on Sunday I guess.

Same for me, no real GC ambition in tour Down Under. Craddon for the sprint today, veller tomorrow and samuel to gain some experience. Therefore i am limited in attacking points
I find it rather frustrating to see the oldies still perform so well. I repeat myself when i say that a cyclists’ carreer takes wayyy too long in this game. No critic on someone specific. Just my opinion guys, dont be mad :-) It costs a lot of money to train riders the way you want them to be, and between 26 and 31 most of them are just useless. How do you think about that?

Just my opinion guys, dont be mad :-) It costs a lot of money to train riders the way you want them to be, and between 26 and 31 most of them are just useless. How do you think about that? A lot of the players feel the same. And the owners do also. But as multiple times mentioned, the problem is it is hard to change anything about that without having consequences for a big amount of cyclists (and therefore their managers). peloton.proboards.com/thread/9553/new-training-formulaHowever, I do have the feeling this is the season of change. The oldies are 38-39 and getting weaker or even retired. The ages 30-34 are taking over. For today, it's very hard to do a bet. Lot's of cyclists with 95% or more fitness. Some will go 80-85% for GC, some will go 100% for stage, a few managers can go for 100%, train fitness and go for 100% again on tuesday. Snoek (Cycling Joop Zoetemelk) and Carnea (Semtex) seem to be possible contenders.

Snoek will go for it (stage) not for the overall ranking, i have no fitness option I will save him for his best part, the classics. (hé isn't a flat specialist, more a sprinter with a nice hill and mountain skill. (Oscarito, Freire or Ulissi Diego, Gasparotto Enrico)

Bosko have you tried the new race configurations yet? Seems a lot different. Will be a challenge to adapt to this as quick as possible
Congrats Joop, first win in DIV 2. Nice one. I will use veller to get a decent result in the GC or lehning in youth classification. Havent decided yet

Bets for tomorrow?
I will try to win with my new mountain star Silva but don't know how strong are the others.
